Amazonian Ancestral Medicine Retreat, Putumayo, Colombia

With Mama Concha, yagé mistress and healer of the Kamentsa Native Nation, and Clara Sofía, healer of French-Amazigh origins.

January 12-20, 2026

At the heart of ancestral medicines and the jungle, this retreat is an immersion in the realm of plants and nature. Interspersed with ancestral medicine ceremonies and visits to beautiful sites deep in the forest, discovering waterfalls, you will immerse yourself in the culture of the Amazon's indigenous peoples during 9 days.

The science of sacred Yagé in its pure ancestral way

I will take you to the Putumayo territory in Mocoa, which I have been exploring since 2017 through my ancestral wisdom study trips. Directly on the land where the plants that make up the sacred recipe for this concoction, originating from the Amazonian Indigenous Peoples, grow, we will stay in the ceremonial house of Mama Concha of the Kamentsa Nation. Having inherited the science of yagé through her family, Mama Concha is recognized beyond Colombian borders for her gift as a healer. A master in the use of Amazonian plants, she works to cure various illnesses in a completely natural way and bring peace and harmony to the mind, body, spirit, and soul.

At the gateway to the Amazon, a corridor of abundant flora and fauna, where the Andes Mountains end and merge with a verdant horizontal landscape, Putumayo is the birthplace of the sacred medicine of yagé or ayahuesca. In Colombia, this powerful elixir is called yagé and has the same composition as ayahuesca. The Putumayo territory is a reservoir of this ancestral wisdom, bringing together five First Nations who work with this ancestral medicine: the Kamentsa, the Inca, the Cofan, the Siona, and the Koreguaje.

"All illnesses can be healed with faith"

With the power of water and earth, you will receive powerful healing to answer your life questions and heal your traumas and physical illnesses. The retreat will take place in the Kementsà Reserve, and you can consult with Mama Concha about specific healing techniques to receive additional care using Amazonian medicinal plants. Mama Concha is especially renowned for her treatments for the uterus, prostate, and asthma, but her knowledge is vast. As she told me, "Any illness can be cured with faith."

Welcome to this journey to the Source, an immersion in ancestral wisdom to reveal your true essence.

Made with Love, Clara Sofia
