About this Retreat

Your Guides

Details of this retreat

You hold space for others. This weekend is for you.

The Practitioner Preview Weekend is designed for people who already teach, facilitate or hold space for a community.

Come to Limiar first as a guest. Rest, experience the land, join sound and nature-based practices, share meals and discover the rhythm of the place from the inside.

Rather than a conventional venue tour or a packed professional training, most of the weekend is lived as a genuine retreat. The professional element is intentionally brief and practical: a venue walkthrough, an open Q&A and a conversation about what Limiar can realistically support.

Limiar is a small, off-grid retreat place in Central Portugal. We work with intimate groups, simple hospitality and flexible structures rather than fixed retreat formulas. The land, the silence and the way people gather here are part of the experience.

After experiencing Limiar, suitable participants may explore one of three possible paths for 2027:

— bringing their own community and programme to Limiar;
— co-creating a retreat together with Limiar;
— joining a simple community partner and referral programme for selected retreats.

There is no expectation to commit to anything during the weekend. The purpose is to experience the place honestly, ask practical questions and see whether a future relationship makes sense.

This experience is best suited to practitioners who value small groups, nature, depth and a thoughtful pace more than polished resort infrastructure or tightly programmed retreats.

Come as a guest. Rest. Explore what you could create here.

Schedule

A spacious practitioner weekend

FRIDAY — ARRIVING AS A GUEST

Arrival and time to settle into your accommodation.

Shared dinner, an informal welcome and a gentle opening sound immersion.

Nothing demanding is scheduled on the first evening. The purpose is simply to arrive and begin experiencing Limiar from the inside.

SATURDAY — EXPERIENCING THE PLACE

A slow breakfast followed by an Art of Noticing experience on the land, using sensory awareness, listening and simple encounters with the natural environment.

Shared lunch and genuine unstructured time for rest, walking, reading, sleeping or simply being outside.

Later in the afternoon, a practical venue walkthrough and open Q&A. We will explore the accommodation, practice spaces, group capacities, logistics, possible activities, local collaborators and the real possibilities and limitations of hosting a retreat at Limiar.

After dinner, an extended Sound Journey using gongs, crystal singing bowls, tuning forks and other acoustic instruments.

SUNDAY — LOOKING AHEAD

A gentle body-based awakening practice, followed by breakfast.

A short session exploring three possible future paths: bringing your own community, co-creating a retreat or joining the Limiar community partner programme.

Shared lunch, closing circle and departure during the afternoon.

The weekend remains primarily a retreat experience. Professional exploration occupies only a small and practical part of the programme.

The schedule is approximate and may move between the forest, activity barn, terrace, river and fireside according to the weather and the needs of the group.
