Details of this retreat
“Every night, a Eucharist” said Carl Jung, whose lifelong exploration of dreams convinced him that the unconscious is alive with the wholemaking powers of the Sacred, expressed through the nightly dreams arising through our soul’s core.
That is quite a claim, yet as we relate with our dreams as a spiritual practice, we find Wisdom calling, guiding, challenging, and transforming us in ways that only God could dream up. This retreat offers practices for engaging with our dreams individually and with a group. Expect playful, prayerful learning that anyone can follow, whether or not you ever recall a single dream. Dreamwork skills transfer easily to any encounter with the Divine, limbering up our souls and deepening our spiritual imaginations to the “live holiness” coursing through us and through all creation.
Specific skills you can expect to learn include keeping a dream journal, relating to dreams through creative and analytic modes, basic Jungian dream theory, group projective dreamwork (SO amazing) and long-range dream tending practices. You’ll find that dreams are multi-leveled miracles; they sustain our souls with practical wisdom like morning manna, and satisfy our longing for Presence like the Eucharistic mystery. Come satisfy your soul hunger with two days and nights of dreamwork, dream play, dream prayer.
Led by Laura Huff Hileman, a certified Jungian-oriented dreamworker and spiritual director who has facilitated dream groups and taught dreamwork since 1999. She believes that dreamwork is lively, contemplative soulwork that invites the dreamer into deep relationship with the Divine by way of image, emotion, metaphor, and symbol. Responding to dreams through prayer and expressive arts are two ways she encourages dreamers to deepen their primary relationship with the Holy.
