About this Retreat
Angela de Pietro is a trauma-informed life coach, psychology professional, reverend, Indigenous wisdom advocate, and founder of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to health, healing, and human well-being. Originally from California, Angela brings more than a decade of professional experience working in the field of substance abuse treatment, addiction recovery, trauma support, and transformational coaching.
Trained through Landmark’s Self-Expression and Leadership Program, Angela has been coaching individuals since 2017, helping people break free from addiction, trauma patterns, limiting beliefs, and the emotional bondage of past experiences. Her work combines psychology, nervous system awareness, grief work, mindfulness, ancient wisdom traditions, and radical self-honesty to support deep personal transformation and lasting healing.
Angela is also an ordained Reverend with the Universal Life Church (who's motto is we are all children of the same universe), a role she has held for over 12 years. In addition, she brings nearly two decades of experience guiding and supporting psychedelic journeys involving DMT, ketamine, LSD, psilocybin, and peyote in intentional, ceremonial, and healing-centered settings. Her approach emphasizes safety, integration, personal empowerment, spiritual exploration, and trauma-informed care.
Angela’s work is shaped not only by professional training, but by profound lived experience. Having survived kidnapping, SA, complex trauma, and the devastating loss of two younger brothers, she brings a rare depth of compassion, resilience, and understanding to her work. Her personal journey through PTSD and C-PTSD has fueled her passion for helping others reclaim safety, purpose, joy, and freedom within themselves. She has also served as a death doula and is deeply experienced in supporting individuals through grief, loss, transition, and emotional healing.
In addition to her healing work, Angela is a retired chef trained in fine and luxury dining with the expert culinary team at Ocean Grill inside Restoration Hardware. Her background also includes years as an international pyrotechnic performer, touring and performing for audiences around the world.
Today, Angela’s work centers on helping others remember their innate wholeness through healing, self-expression, conscious living, spiritual exploration, and the preservation of ancient wisdom traditions.
Medicine Woman & Guardian of the Soul’s Awakening
A holistic integrative therapist, medicine woman and guardian of the soul’s awakening. She accompanies processes of spiritual expansion and consciousness from truth, tenderness, and the power of love. Her path has been guided by life, her wounds, and luminous teachers through Akashic records, Ho’oponopono, Angel therapy, channeling, and ancestral wisdom.
She creates a safe space where the soul can remember its mission. She does not consider herself a healer: she is a mirror, a lighthouse, and a sister on the journey. Her religion is love, and her medicine is the reconnection with inner truth. She will be holding space with you and doing energy healings at the plant medicine ceremony.
Pratyahara Yoga Guide: Yoga isn’t a practice that we find. It’s a practice that finds us. Joseph traveled the world as a minister turned math teacher and in 2014 he met his friend Amnat in Bangkok, Thailand. He witnessed Amnat effortlessly lifting himself into a handstand and thought “I have got to be able to do that.” He began attending the Ashtanga Yoga Center of Bangkok having no idea what he was getting involved in. 12 years later he still hasn’t mastered that handstand, but the practice of yoga has changed his entire life. At the end of the Pandemic, having returned to the United States to be with his family, he was struggling with purpose and direction. He decided to pursue Yoga Teacher Training and found himself at Integrative Yoga Therapy in Easley, South Carolina. The program transformed his life and gave him a deep understanding of the transformative power of yoga. Now, living in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica, he focuses on teaching the practice of Pratyahara, the bridge between meditation and movement and what he believes to be one of the most powerful transformative tools that can be practiced anytime, anywhere. Yoga transformed his life and now he has dedicated himself to helping transform the lives of others.
Kiany Brown is a medicine woman from the Caribbean of Costa Rica, guiding healing and transformation through ancestral practices, metaphysics, meditation, and spiritual therapies. Her journey began at 16 with a deep awakening through diet, nature, and sacred ceremonies that reconnected her to her essence. She has walked with shamans from Costa Rica and Mexico, learning about Temescal and peyote ceremonies, gathering sacred tools to open the heart, heal, and align with one's purpose. Her mission is to share these teachings with those seeking balance and spiritual reconnection. With warmth and wisdom, Kiany creates a safe space for healing, transformation, and spiritual rebirth. She is also the Owner of Como Vivo the company responsible for the Holistic food in your welcome bag!
Poy is a third-generation master of medicinal plants. He is a traditional herbalist and healer from the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. He dedicates his life to sharing ancestral wisdom through medicinal plants, natural healing, and deep connection with nature. He spent over 20 years living in the Caribbean jungle guided by the ancestral wisdom of his grandfather and mother — both indigenous healers. Poy cultivates and studies the sacred plants that grow in this land. His lifelong connection with nature has given him profound knowledge of how to help people heal from various illnesses and restore balance to body and mind.
