Living the Principles of Self-Realization (Raja Yoga)
Step 2 on the Path of Kriya YogaIn-Person Course – 12 Weeks | Thursdays at 10:30 AM (Before signing up, please inquire when series begins)
This uplifting 12-week course offers a practical and experiential journey into Raja Yoga, the royal path of self-mastery and divine realization. Raja Yoga shows us how to spiritualize every aspect of life, with daily meditation as its central practice.
The yoga teachings explain that this world is a divine school—meant to help us develop our spiritual strength through life’s many lessons. As we grow and refine our consciousness, we draw closer to the ultimate goal: Self-Realization.
Course Overview:
12-week in-person series held on Thursdays at 10:30 AM
Based on the teachings of Raja Yoga as shared by Paramhansa Yogananda and Swami Kriyananda
Includes practical tools, meditation instruction, group discussion, and experiential learning to help you live these teachings in daily life
As part of your tuition, you will receive a copy of The Art and Science of Raja Yoga by Swami Kriyananda
You’ll also receive unlimited access to group sadhanas at The Expanding Light Retreat during the course
Completion Requirements for Step 2:
To receive credit for Step 2 on the Path of Kriya Yoga, participants must:
Read the chapter in The Art and Science of Raja Yoga before each class
Attend and participate in each class(If you're unable to attend a class, please let the teacher know in advance)
Complete all quizzes by the end of the course
Attend 4–5 in-person sadhanas at The Expanding Light Retreat (you’re welcome to attend more!)
Who Should Join?
This course is for those who have completed Step 1: Ananda Course in Meditation and are ready to go deeper on the Path of Kriya Yoga. It is the next step toward preparing for Kriya Yoga initiation.

6:30 – 8:00 am Community Meditation (Join us for all or part of this silent meditation)
6:30 – 8:15 am Sadhana (spiritual practices) which consists of: Energization Exercises (20 – 25 min), Ananda Yoga Postures * (45 – 50 min), Chanting (5 min), Meditation (15 min – 30 min)
8:15 – 9:00 am Breakfast (in silence Monday-Saturday)
9:00 – 9:30 am Host check-in
10:00 – 11:30 am Scheduled program, class, group activity, or free time
Afternoon
Noon – 12:30 pm Meditation (5 min chanting, 25 min meditation)
12:30 – 1:30 pm Lunch
2:00 – 4:00 pm Scheduled program, class, group activity, or free time
4:45 – 6:30 pm Sadhana (spiritual practices)
Evening
6:30 – 7:30 pm Dinner
7:30 – 9:00 pm Scheduled program, class, group activity, or free time
