About this Retreat
AUGUST 8 + 9 SUMMER SERIES SPOTLIGHT: Carla’s movement journey began with Ashtanga yoga, a practice that brought her grounding and discipline during a pivotal time in her life. The Mysore-style approach taught her focus and consistency, but years of repetitive motions led to injuries like low back pain and shoulder tendonitis. Determined to find a better way to move, she started exploring alternatives that could support her body and sustain her love for movement.
Pilates became the answer. Through therapeutic guidance at the Mindful Movement Centre, Carla discovered how to move smarter, not harder. She learned to build strength and stability in ways that complemented her yoga practice and protected her body. Inspired by this shift, she pursued teacher training and later a mentorship with Brittany, who helped her refine her skills and understand how to create meaningful change for every body she works with.
Today, Carla combines years of experience with a relatable, intuitive teaching style. She empowers her clients to feel stronger, move confidently, and embrace what their bodies are truly capable of. For Carla, movement is more than exercise—it’s a way to feel good in your own skin and enjoy the journey.
AUGUST 8 + 9 SUMMER SERIES SPOTLIGHT: Patricia comes from a dance background, teaching since she was 15. She fell in love with yoga 13 years ago which lead her to train at Downward Dog Yoga Centre. Completing the 250hr Yoga Teacher Training, 100hr Mysore training and countless other workshops and trainings, have helped to create a practice of fluid and controlled movements with a refined emphasis on ones breath and self awareness.
Patricia’s background is in Ashtanga Vinyasa, Power, Restorative and Yin styles as well as CARs, HIIT and Lagree. She wants nothing more than for each practice to be unique, catering to the individual needs of every student.
