About this Retreat
Details of this retreat
The Topa Institute retreat center invites the public to meet author and mystic Amanda R. Edwards on October 12 at 4 p.m. Edwards will speak in the center’s tranquil Council House about her book Quiet Voice, Awesome Power (Apollo Publishers, 2023) and lead guests in what she describes as the fascinating dive into daily spirit communication.
“Humans have more natural tools for healing, clarity, and divine connection than most of us acknowledge,” Edwards says. “I’m here to remind anyone off the street how powerful they actually are — and how much invisible support surrounds them.”
This book event offers a chance to connect with other curious seekers in this beautiful natural setting, learn some simple techniques for receiving spiritual insight, and hear the kind of messages from loved ones and guides that Edwards teaches are an everyday part of life. The intentional timing of the reception will add another divine element: The Pink Moment, Ojai’s sunset phenomenon when the sun’s light is refracted through the atmosphere and reflected off the reddish Topa Topa Mountains is at 6:15 p.m. that day and is truly spectacular to witness from the Council House patio. We look forward to sharing the evening with you!
Free admission to this event is made possible by Topa Institute and the author. Copies of Quiet Voice, Awesome Power will be available for purchase, and light refreshments will be provided.
About the Author:
Recently moving to Ojai from Pasadena, Edwards first felt drawn by her family’s history in the area; her grandparents owned and ran the Ojai Valley News in the 1950s and for a time raised their three children, including Edwards’ father, on Park Road. When she found her own new home was in Ojai’s historic spiritualist neighborhood adjacent to the Theosophical Society’s Krotona Institute, she couldn’t miss the serendipity. As Edwards has learned about Ojai’s historic lure for theosophists and other spiritual seekers including Annie Besant, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Aldous Huxley, and many more, her urge to move to the area feels even more meaningful.
