About this Retreat
Wren is an embodiment guide committed to practices that encourage living in right-relationship. A trained dancer, theater worker, mindfulness facilitator and former recovery counselor, Wren shares body-based practices synthesized from social partner dance, mindfulness, Taoism, the Gene Keys, waterways and relating with other humans that support interpersonal connection and positive change.
In 2013, Wren founded Cocréa with co-founder Antje Schaefer, as a vehicle for transformation through exploring mindful, consent based partnered movement as a relational practice. Channeling what he has come to acknowledge as an intelligence that wants the highest possible outcome for humanity, he creates brave spaces for humans seeking a deeper sense of belonging to come home to themselves and the earth through the body.
Wren is a TEDx speaker, featured author in "ReInhabiting the Village", certified Attunement Therapy practitioner and HeartMath certified trauma sensitive educator. He holds a BA in Drama and Dance and began dancing in 1998 at the height of the swing dance revival. He immediately began fusing dance styles, particularly swing, hip hop and contemporary movement. He began performing in front of audiences at the age of 6 and as a neurospicy human, thrives when channeling his boundless energy, curious mind and empathetic capacity into service to others.
A devotee of the Gene Keys since 2013, he is currently training to become a Gene Keys Guide.

ABRAZO: A Sensuous Partner Dance Journey
In the mountains of Guanacaste, Costa Rica - discover what happens when you slow down enough to truly feel—yourself, another, the pulse of life moving through everything.
Abrazo (Spanish for "embrace") is more than a partner dance retreat. It's a doorway into the art of intimate presence, where every movement becomes a conversation and every breath becomes an invitation to deeper connection.
This immersive 3-day experience weaves together mindful partner dance, somatic practices, and the transformative power of surrender. Whether you've never danced with a partner or have years of experience, this container will meet you exactly where you are and invite you into something you didn't know was possible.
This Retreat Is For Your If You:
Feel hungry for deeper, more authentic connection but may struggle with intimacy or vulnerability.
Are curious about partner dance but feel intimidated by traditional/conventional dance scenes.
Want to develop more embodied awareness and somatic intelligence.
Are in relationship and seeking new tools for intimacy and communication.
Feel disconnected from your sensual, creative life force and want to reclaim it.
Are ready to explore the intersection of sensuality, community, consent and authentic expression.
Long to experience touch and closeness that feels both safe and enlivening.

Shared Casita
Nestled into the mountainside and surrounded by edible landscapes, our shared casitas offer a cozy and grounded experience. Each space accommodates three people and is just a short walk from our communal gathering areas—the ocean-view bamboo maloca, kitchen, temple, lounge, and juice bar. Here, you wake to the sounds of the forest, share in simple rhythms, and enjoy access to sunrise over the mountains and sunset over the Pacific.
Bahareque
Built in the traditional earthen bahareque method, these casitas offer a unique and intimate stay nestled in a more private pocket of the land. With natural finishes and regenerative design, each space is suited for one or two people. Guests have access to their own shared eco-facilities, including hot showers and dry toilets, while remaining within a short walk of the central spaces. Perfect for those seeking both privacy and connection in a natural setting.
Semi-Private Casita
These hillside casitas offer flexible lodging and a grounded, nature-connected stay. Each room includes a king bed, a star-gazing net from the sliding doors and a bamboo-lined outdoor shower. Located near shared eco-facilities and gathering areas, they are well-suited for solo travellers or couples seeking simplicity and comfort.
Private Mountain Casita
Spacious and crafted from wood with earthen wall insulation, the Suites provide a larger and more private stay while remaining close to the land. Each includes a king bed, expanded interior footprint, and mountain or ocean views. A star-gazing net from the sliding doors opens to the night sky. The suite also includes a private bamboo-lined outdoor shower with cool spring water. These are located close to shared eco-facilities and communal spaces and are ideal for guests seeking extra comfort.
