Mark S. Burrows is much sought-after as a retreat leader and speaker on mysticism and poetry as well as spirituality and the arts. In 2021, he founded and continues to lead a popular online program, “the Julian Circle,” with monthly Zoom gatherings that encourage participants to live into the wholistic wisdom of Julian’s “showings.” A teacher, scholar and award-winning poet and translator of German poetry, his recent popular books include three collections of meditative poems inspired by Eckhart’s writings, most recently Meister Eckhart’s Book of Darkness and Light (winner of the 2024 Nautilus Book Awards Gold Medal). Other recent publications include You Are the Future: Living the Questions with Rainer Maria Rilke, co-written with Stephanie Dowrick (2024). Details of this retreat
Across the arc of the high Middle Ages, a powerful vernacular “school” of mysticism emerged. Associated with the brilliant 13th century Flemish Beguine Hadewijch and, half a century later, the German Dominican Meister Eckhart, these voices charted new mystical paths for those daring to venture on “a wayless way” (Eckhart). We’ll weave a conversation with these two luminaries, exploring several of Hadewijch’s writings (from her poems, letters, and visions) and selections from Eckhart’s writings. On this journey we’ll explore the experience they shared of the “soft stillness” of love/God. Join us for the journey.

I really enjoyed Diarmuid O’Muchu’s
presentation based on his book of the same title. Diarmud is a contemporary oriented theologian. I’ve made several retreats and have learned from each exchange. I highly recommend his retreats and books. Believe me, you won’t be disappointed.

As usual, Diarmuid O'Murchu broadened my vision of the importance of our place on this planet and the presence of the Spirit in all that is. My awareness of this is
