About this Retreat
Heidi McCurdy is an award-winning singer/songwriter, sound healer, holistic voice coach, and Expressive Arts Therapist. She is passionate about holding space for others to explore their voices and discover the magic, mystery, and medicine of Music.
As a singer, Heidi is known for her warm, soulful voice, and her ability to tune into the music of the moment. Her original songs have received awards and been featured on TV and national radio, and she has performed at jazz, wine and world music festivals and venues throughout Canada and Europe.
When teaching singing, sound healing, or expressive arts, Heidi creates a sacred space for expression with her singing bowls, shruti box, frame drum, and vocal looper. Students appreciate the safety she creates in her groups which emphasize self-compassion and exploration in a “mistake-free zone.”
Having cultivated her own intimate relationship with the Muse, Heidi is a believer in the healing power of Music, and the beautiful ways it connects us more deeply with ourselves, each other, and the Earth.
She loves to guide others to free their authentic voice and creativity, and her online singing workshops have drawn hundreds of participants from around the world. In all of her music and facilitation, Heidi aims to live in service to the Muse, and to the re-wilding of our creative souls.

This course will show you how to activate its potential.
For thousands of years, people across cultures have been using sound for healing, transformation, wellness, and spiritual expression.
In this program we will explore introductory forms of vocal sound healing traditions old and new, ancient and contemporary. These include toning, sounding the chakras, singing meditation, intuitive singing, and sacred chant.
When we activate the resonance of our voice, especially in a safe space for expression, we send healing vibrations through our whole body.
Science shows us this can:
Reduce stress, worry, anxiety, and depression
Slow heart rate and reduce blood pressure
Enhance immune function
Reduce pain
Activate beneficial neurotransmitters, hormones, and endorphins
Increase wellbeing, tranquility and inner peace
Increase creativity and connection with inner wisdom
Sessions will weave structured practices with intuitive singing meditations, focussing on a specific theme each week:
Week One – Deepen your breathing and awaken the resonant vibrations of your voice through vocal toning.
Week Two – Align your energy flow through the chakras by sounding the sacred seed syllables, the bija mantra
Week Three – Open your vocal channel further by sounding the chakra vowels.
Week Four – Learn uplifting intercultural songs and chants to attune with source and inner wisdom.
Week Five – Harmonize with the Great Song of Life through co-creative songweaving, for healing, renewal, and vitality.
This course is for those who want to discover the medicine and mystery of the voice for nourishing self-care, to release stress, and to enhance mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
No experience is required, and you do not need to identify as a singer to benefit. Participants’ mics will remain muted while singing, so you can sing your heart out in your own space.
