About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

Join us for our annual New Year's Eve prayers for peace. The service will include silent meditation, music, prayers from different faith traditions, and reflections on new beginnings.

You're invited to stay until midnight, play board games, and help us ring in the new year with our gong. (There might even be some bagpiping involved!)

Our New Year's Eve tradition provides a safe and sober opportunity to reflect on the past year and to welcome the opportunities of the coming year. You'll do so with others who are committed to peaceful living and spiritual growth.
What to bring

A dessert or savory snack to share.
A board game (optional), if you wish to stay after the service.

Stay overnight
We also invite you to spend New Year's Eve overnight in a cabin, in a personal retreat. You can do this by clicking here.

November personal retreat
Both personal retreats I have taken at OFP have been very important for me. They have come at a time when I have needed to find solitude and stillness. The combination of nature, sanctified land and built structures, and a generally prayerful atmosphere all have made for a good retreat experience for me.

If I were to wish for something to change at OFP, it would have to do with the food in the direction of simpler, less carbohydrates and sugar.

I will return in the future. OFP is an important resource for me, and it serves a vital purpose in my spiritual life.

Deep experience of Oneness
The Osage Forest of Peace holds an energy that invites me first into a sense of the sacred and eventually a deep experience, and immersion into being One with all Life. I'm so grateful to all who have held this forest as sacred and care for all its Beings.

My only suggestion would be to engage a caterer offering less intensely spicy meats and fewer carbohydrate heavy dishes. Some veggies with the eggs on Sunday would have been great. I appreciated the gluten and dairy free options, and David's berry crisp was great.

Relaxing, informative, peaceful
I really enjoyed my time in the forest and learning about forest bathing! The cabin was nice, the food was delicious and the connections with the forest and others there for the weekend were just what I needed.

Oblation into the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration
The Osage Forest of Peace never fails to live up to its name! The lovely scenery, comfortable accommodations, delicious meals and most of all the warm and welcoming hospitality can not fail to give one a renewed sense of God’s love and care.
