About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

Join us for our annual New Year's Eve prayers for peace. The service will include silent meditation, music, prayers from different faith traditions, and reflections on new beginnings.

You're invited to stay until midnight, play board games, and help us ring in the new year with our gong. (There might even be some bagpiping involved!)

Our New Year's Eve tradition provides a safe and sober opportunity to reflect on the past year and to welcome the opportunities of the coming year. You'll do so with others who are committed to peaceful living and spiritual growth.
What to bring

A dessert or savory snack to share.
A board game (optional), if you wish to stay after the service.

Stay overnight
We also invite you to spend New Year's Eve overnight in a cabin, in a personal retreat. You can do this by clicking here.

Oblation into the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration
The Osage Forest of Peace never fails to live up to its name! The lovely scenery, comfortable accommodations, delicious meals and most of all the warm and welcoming hospitality can not fail to give one a renewed sense of God’s love and care.

An Oasis of Joy in a Forest of Peace
My first visit to Osage Forest of Peace was in 2014, after a visit to Shantivanam in India. This gem in north eastern Oklahoma's "Green Country" has been a sacred space since Sister Pasqueline and two additional Sisters of the Benedictine Order founded it in the 1970s. It remains in near pristine condition, surrounded and interpenetrated by the most remarkable forest, and is a must for anyone seeking some solitude and a break from whatever ails them. From the forest labyrinth to the zen garden, the hiking trails and the little chapel which was Sister Pasqueline's abode this space is a perfect respite, a shining gem. I don't believe that this review does the space justice, but I do hope that it is enough to encourage you to visit.

Lovely Environment
I stayed in a lovely quiet and warm cabin. David McDonald made himself available to answer any questions and to help out whenever needed. I really look forward to my next visit to the forest as it really is a place of solitude. I attended the be still and know retreat, and I would very much like to stay longer the next time. The meals were not as tasty as I have experienced there in the past.

Found peace at the forest.
The cabin was a delightful balance between colorful and simple. Meals were plentiful, nutritious and lovingly prepared. Meditation, readings, labyrinth and forest walks invited peaceful reflection.

Quiet walk in the woods
I enjoyed a calm autumn afternoon walking the beautiful forest trails. It's a perfect place to get away from the city and into a healthier environment.
