About this Retreat
Danya is the founder and creatrix behind Wild Song Yoga – birthing it from a dream to create sacred spaces for people to explore their inner landscapes. Her Yoga journey began in 2009 and she graduated her first 200hr YTT in 2013. This path has offered opportunity to understand her innermost layers while connecting to her innate potential. Danya is answering the call to step forward and share this potent wisdom with other seekers.
Her path has not been straight, spending almost a decade working in the forests of Canada as a treeplanter. She acknowledges this time of deep connection with nature as transformative and healing. From this grounded awareness, she grew to understand the need for humans to connect with the natural earthly cycles to understand their natural selves. Danya’s career in the forest ended when she gave birth to her son, Luin, in 2019. Through the rite of passage from maiden to mother, Danya felt an intrinsic urge to create spaces for commUnity healing.
Throughout her journey, Danya has studied numerous styles of Yoga including Hatha, Vinayasa Ashtanga, Alignment-Based, Anusara, Kundalini, and Yoga Nidra. Danya pays homage to the invaluable knowledge passed by her teachers. Her studies in Canada, India, Nepal, and the USA led to her accreditation through Yoga Alliance as a 500ERYT, YACEP, RPYT, and RCYT. Danya dedicates her life to serving through various modalities including bodywork, sound healing, folk medicine, and birthwork. She teaches through a lens of trauma-informed care to guide beings back to a state of equanimity. Danya truly believes in the magic of Yoga and is deeply honoured to share this ancient wisdom.
