Directions

Please ensure you reserve your spot for your retreat with us prior to booking your flights. If you have any questions during the registration process or are concerned any health conditions (including bipolar, schizophrenia, or psychosis) may prevent you from attending a retreat, please contact us first.

We offer pickup on Day 1 of your retreat from a hotel near the San Jose (SJO) airport.

We recommend arriving the day before, and booking your stay at the recommended hotel in our confirmation email, in order to give you time to relax and settle in before beginning your journey to Soltara.

We believe healing even takes place in the kitchen. We take on the mantra by the Greek physician, Hippocrates: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” We honor the role of food in our lives and expand it beyond its primary purpose of bodily nourishment – food can be an avenue to dig deeper into ourselves, consciously looking at our patterns and mindsets surrounding not just what we eat, but how and why we eat what we do. Our eating habits don’t just affect our mental health, they also reflect it. At Soltara, we aim to help you jumpstart this process of connection through conscious cooking on all levels. Diet is an important part of the healing process, both on its own and also to help prepare the mind and body for plant medicine work. We work closely with our shamans to prepare wholesome, delicious meals that adhere to the traditional dietary guidelines of working with ayahuasca. All of our meals are freshly prepared in-house by our loving kitchen staff. From fresh smoothies and juices every morning, to plant-based meals emphasizing local, organic, and sustainable produce, to lean proteins such a chicken and fish, we celebrate the rich local flavor of Costa Rican cuisine, and offer a chance to experience a connection to the land and culture while nourishing the body, mind, and spirit.

Absolutely Life Altering

I will never see myself or others the same way. This center focuses on making sure those that attend are safe and feel safe in the process leading up to the stay, during and after. Everyone involved is highly experienced and has a noticeably more developed way of engaging with the attendees. The plant medicine is pure and engaging and the staff that facilitates understands the delicate nature of what is happening each and every day. From the maestros to those that are cleaning your room. I highly recommend Soltara for anyone looking to go deeper within themselves and to face the things they have been hiding or simply neglecting. No matter how intense or dark it may be. These team members have a great understanding of what is needed for each and every person attending and it only makes you feel safer and safer as the days and ceremonies go on. Every minute of the day is carefully planned for the guest experience and is incredibly intentional. The love you feel just from experiencing the level of commitment each staff member has and how each day and meal is planned for your healing and restoration is so beautiful. The space is peaceful and beautiful. The sounds of the animals and the ocean are also part of the healing and rest you will experience. I absolutely recommend Soltara!

pristine healing experience in most loving and caregiving environment

My experience with the 7-day soltara retreat in goddess falls has been beyond words. I can't explain how much love, gratitude and care I have felt for the maestras, the facilitator team and our group. In a difficult moment during my second ceremony a facilitator was there to hold my hand, breath with me and make sure that I was able to handle the wave of medicine that came through. I feel really blessed that I got to make this existential experience in this environment and fully want to recommend soltara to anyone who is open to explore the realm beyond our material world and willing to profoundly work on the personal fears and inner demons. On top, the nature, food and glamping accommodation just made the whole retreat appear like a perfect symphony in paradise.

A life-changing experience — again!

I am a few days post-retreat at Soltara, and wow… what an incredible experience it was (again).

The seed for Mother Ayahuasca was planted in me back in 2018, but it took six years before I finally listened to the call. I went to Peru last year, and that’s where Mother Aya brought deep past traumas to the surface so I could truly see them, accept them and begin to heal. It was one of the most difficult journeys of my life, but the amount of support and care I received was beyond anything I had ever experienced.

Robert, Gemma, and my dear Bonnie were handpicked by God to do this work. Their embodiment, wisdom, compassion and presence do not go unnoticed. After leaving that first time, it took months before the integration began and the pieces in my life started falling into place. My relationships improved, especially with my children and slowly, I started to feel myself coming home to who I really am.

This year, I felt the call again. I went to Goddess Falls last week and wow… what a beautiful, powerful, and completely different experience from the first. Still challenging, still humbling, but this time I felt like the chapter that opened last year finally closed.

I was blessed to have Gemma and Robert again as my facilitators and it honestly felt divinely orchestrated as if they witnessed the beginning and the completion of a profound healing cycle in me. Their support, their intuition and their care were everything.

The entire staff blew me away once again. The love, the presence, the attention to detail, it’s undeniable. I also had the gift of meeting Isabell and Matthew David on this retreat and they were every bit as extraordinary as Bonnie. Soltara has truly crafted something rare: a program rooted in integrity, intention and heart!

And the maestros and the Maestri’s… they are on a whole different level. Their medicine, their icaros, their energy; beyond words. Mother Aya, the facilitators and the maestros are woven together so beautifully by Soltara. One could not exist without the other.

I am endlessly grateful for this experience. Grateful for the call. Grateful that I listened. And grateful that Soltara exists as a place to journey so deeply, so safely and so sacredly.

This work has changed my life; twice now. And I know it will continue to shape who I am becoming. 💚✨🌿
