Details of this retreat
Naropa came to Tilopa as a great scholar, but realization did not come through his academic achievement. It came through devotion, hardship, direct instruction, and the exhaustion of ordinary grasping. From Tilopa, the Mahamudra lineage flowed through Naropa, Marpa, Milarepa, Gampopa, and the great Kagyu masters. In these teachings, Rinpoche will guide us through this treasured text and help us understand how its instructions can be brought directly into meditation, practice, and daily life.
Over two weekends, Rinpoche will guide us through this text line by line, drawing upon the oral instructions of the Mahamudra lineage and his own decades of study, retreat, and practice. These teachings will help clarify the meaning of Mahamudra and illuminate how these timeless instructions can be applied directly within our own experience.
This series is especially suited for practitioners who:
Wish to deepen their understanding of Mahamudra
Want practical guidance on recognizing the nature of mind
Seek to connect meditation practice more directly with that realization
At its heart, Ganges Mahamudra is an invitation to look directly at the mind itself and discover the freedom that has been present from the very beginning.
