About this Retreat
rom a young age, I felt a deep calling to help others. As an intuitive since childhood, I’ve always been drawn to healing, beginning my formal training journey in 1995 with therapeutic massage. Over the years, my path has expanded to include a diverse range of healing modalities, each allowing me to support others in their transformation.
My work has never been bound by geographical limits. I’ve lived and shared my gifts in the US, Haiti, South Korea, and now Portugal, connecting with people from all walks of life. These experiences have shaped my approach to healing, allowing me to meet each person where they are and guide them through their journey.
Before focusing on healing retreats, I spent several years in counseling and administrative roles within non-profits and treatment centers, working closely with traumatized youth. I helped guide them through emotional and behavioral healing while supporting their parents in creating healthier home environments. My experience also includes working in Corrections for several years, where I focused on training and developing best practices for both individuals and institutions to create healthier, transformative environments. This work led to positive outcomes, including reducing recidivism, and further deepened my understanding of trauma-informed care and its transformative potential.
Additionally, I graduated paramedic school in 1998, and my medical emergency training adds an important layer of safety and preparedness to my work. This background helps ensure that participants in my healing retreats are always in capable hands.
In 2013, I expanded my practice by completing the Advanced Angel Tarot Card Reader course from HayHouse, adding Intuitive Card Reading to my toolbox. A few years later, I integrated life coaching and mentorship, allowing me to use my strong intuition to create safe, transformative spaces for others.
In December 2020, a Mayan Elder in Mexico performed a recognition ceremony, honoring me as a Healer and Reader. I later traveled to Peru, where I was initiated as a Curandera (Healer) and granted permission to serve sacred medicine. Although, healing is also in my lineage. My maternal great grandmother was also a healer and my paternal grandmother a clairvoyant. She taught me from a very young age how to communicate with spirits. In 2022, I completed internationally accredited Shamanic Practitioner Training, further deepening my knowledge and practice.
In 2023, I pursued specialized training in psychedelic-assisted therapy, completing a 4-week course in the Fundamentals of Psychedelic Assisted Therapy and an 8-month Harm Reduction course (ICEERS Ayahuasca Safety Course). I am honored to be one of only two sites in Europe selected to supervise graduates’ practicum requirement for the SYNTHESIS INSTITUTE’s Psychedelic Practitioner Core Training. Although there are many practicum sites worldwide, only two are approved in Europe, and I’m proud to hold that responsibility.
As of Feb 2025, I have facilitated over 180 sacred medicine ceremonies, offering a safe and nurturing space for individuals to heal, overcome their blocks, and step into their full potential. It is an honor to hold space for your healing journey, guiding you through transformation and helping you live your most authentic life.
I have added a Certified Sound Healer (Level 1 & 2) to my list of credentials.
In 2026, I earned my certifications through the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine as a Cannabis Educator and Coach; as well as completed an Advanced Certification in Space Holding, Ceremonies & Embodied Facilitation.
Karen is a seeker on the path of various ancient Wisdom traditions of the East and West. She is interested in combining knowledge and practice to help guide people back to their inner healing intelligence. A writer, editor, and filmmaker by background, she is ever curious and fascinated by the vast potential that dwells in all humans. This has led her to such practices as reiki, drum journeying, breathwork, yin yoga, and meditation.
In addition to training with Kasham, Karen has completed the 13-month Synthesis Institute Psychedelic Practitioner program and has trained with PsyCare UK to learn about altered states and transformational experiences from a range of perspectives and modalities.
She is particularly interested in supporting people in the integration phase of transformative experiences because of the potential for holistic change that can be made to one’s life. For more info about her services: guidinglight.me

Hanna is a guide, accredited Shamanic Practitioner, singer, and intentional Handpoke Tattoo Artist with over eight years of experience. Through sacred tattoo rituals, shamanic practices, and intuitive guidance, she creates spaces where intention, healing, and transformation can unfold with authenticity and care.
Over the past years, Hanna has supported and guided participants in psilocybin retreats in Portugal. Mentored by Kasham for over a year, she gradually stepped into the role of retreat guide. Her work is rooted in an ongoing personal path of self-inquiry, devotion, and practice. Along the way, she has received the Ñusta Karpay initiation, regularly participates in sweat lodges, trained in the practice of Sahumerio, and continues to deepen her understanding through meditation, voice, movement, and her relationship with nature.
Hanna is known for her playful spirit and her ability to hold grounded, compassionate space during life’s most profound moments. She meets each person with openness, intuition, and deep respect for their unique journey, trusting the innate wisdom that already lives within them.
Deeply connected to the Earth, she finds inspiration in the quiet intelligence of the natural world and brings that sense of steadiness, reverence, and presence into every space she holds.

From CHIANG MAI Airport: we will arrange a shuttle for your pick up in Chiang Mai and transport to the venue.
SHUTTLE: The shuttle is shared by participants & picks up in Chiang Mai [suggested time: 11am] ; The shuttle will pick up from the venue on Day 7 at 11:30am, arriving in Chiang Mai at 2:30pm.
The cost is divided by those taking the shuttle and typically is 35-45€ per person roundtrip.
