Our Mindfulness Meditation and Yoga Retreat is the ideal retreat for first time retreaters who seek to discover the transformative power of mindfulness meditation and yoga in a supportive and nurturing atmosphere. You'll enjoy daily meditation sessions and yoga classes designed to enhance focus, compassion, and overall well-being.
During your free time, you can immerse yourself in the beautiful nature surroundings (including the creek and small lotus pond on the property), read, write, practice walking and sitting meditation on the grounds, socialize with other guests, treat yourself to a hike, or some of our wonderful additional treatments. ​
Guided by one of our experienced mindfulness and yoga practitioners and teachers, this retreat offers a nurturing space to reconnect with yourself and discover tools for lasting peace. Our maximum number of guests is limited to 9 to ensure personal attention.

Directions

As we are located in the mountains outside of a town where it is dark, we highly recommend that you arrive here during daylight.
We are located around 1.5 hours from Medellin International Airport and 2 hours from Medellin City (el Poblado). We are happy to help you book an airport transfer from Medellin International Airport or a pick-up from Guatape. From Medelln, you can also arrive by public transport.
We do not have parking space at La Casa De Loto. If you are planning to come here by car, you can leave it in Guatapé and from there take a mototaxi (tuktuk) which brings you to the front door of La Casa de Loto. You can also park on the street in front of our centre but at your own risk.

Accommodation

La Casa de Loto is inspired by the wisdom of the Buddha’s forest retreat tradition. The buildings and accommodations are simple and comfortable and you will have the feeling of being immersed in a natural setting whether inside or outside a building. Our retreat cabins are thoughtfully designed, comfortable rooms, nestled in the forest with a mountain creek that flows below. We offer shared accommodation as well as private rooms and cabins, with comfortable beds and hot showers.

Private Retreat Cabin with en-suite Bathroom

A spacious cabin in a little corner of our retreat centre. Nestled beside a gentle, flowing stream, this cabin offers the perfect escape into nature. Featuring a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom, it’s designed for ultimate comfort and serenity. Large balcony where you can meditate while the soothing sounds of the stream create a calming ambiance. 

Double room with own outside bathroom

Accommodation
A beautiful cozy room made of bamboo and wood, with it's own balcony. It offers in-room wifi access if you need to attend a meeting or do some work during your retreat.  The room has a double bed and is perfect for one person, or a couple. The bathroom, while private, is not en-suite but next to the room.

Our tranquil private room designed for rest and rejuvenation offers a peaceful sanctuary at our retreat center. It features two single beds and an ensuite bathroom, providing privacy and convenience. Step onto the shared balcony, a serene space to connect with nature, reflect, or simply enjoy the tranquil surroundings. 

2 Person Shared Room

This cozy room has two comfortable single beds, an in-room bathroom and a balcony that is shared with another room. It offers amazing views of the mountains.

Private Forest Cabin

Our most spacious and beautiful cabin, nestled in it's own little corner in the woods. It has a king-size bed, a private meditation room with a comfortable armchair, en-suite bathroom and balcony. You can meditate and sleep with the sound of the stream that flows next to it. It provides a restful retreat in the midst of nature.

We are located in the mountains outside of the tourist town of Guatapé, in Antioquia, Colombia; about 1.5 hours from Medellin International Airport (MDE), and 2 hours from Medellin. Our property is set in nature, with a native forest and stream, and amazing views. The climate here is temperate, generally warm in the day and cool in the evening.

BUDDHIST MEDITATION & YOGA RETREAT
Everyone has a special reason for being here.
In hindsight, I'm glad that my topics in particular came out immediately: It was about choices, feeling insecure and surprising changes.
The whole team at Casa de loto was very friendly, respectful and interested in finding the best solution in every moment.
I really enjoyed the yoga classes with Kamila and the meditation with Pema.
My daily meditation and yoga practice got a boost, some perspectives from the beginning could change during these intense six days.

Thank you very much! I would love to come back. It's a bit of a shame that the prices have now been raised significantly, even though this retreat is still comparatively inexpensive in relation to the services provided. Perhaps a price range according to income/own assessment would be a good solution.

Nice place but not what I expected
Pros: beautiful place and very nice people working there. I found that the balance between silence and some talking/reading was perfect. I liked the yoga clases. Meditation instruction was helpful.
Not what I expected: food was not Ayurvedic as advertised. It was very good for the most part, but not necessarily healthy. Walking around the place is not easy, as all the paths are made from rocks placed on steep slopes. Might be dangerous for someone older. I wish I knew before going. For the price, I expected better cleaning service.

Beautiful, peaceful week in lush nature
I've been participating in the 6 Day Yoga & Mindfulness Retreat offered by Casa de Loto and it has been such a wonderful and rejuvenating experience.

Having spent the past months in a city, I was craving a break in nature and away from distraction to reconnect to my true self, and that's what I found at Casa de Loto. Our Yoga and meditation teacher Camilla was caring, loving, honest and took care of every single one of us with great attention.

The space is beautiful, with little cabanas spread over green hills and a little stream to dip into or lay next to and enjoy the sun. The stuff was super friendly, nice and accommodating and all the meals I enjoyed there were delicious and healthy.

I left with more clarity, focus and gratitude and I am very grateful for that. I highly recommend Casa de loto to anyone who needs to reconnect with their true self and nature and to anyone who wants to learn more about yoga and meditation.

It was an amazing experience this retreat.the envirementwasbeatiful, the food was extraordinary and the classes where great. I grow stronger both physical and menteal during this week due to intens training lead by an experienced teacher.
