Embark on a Spiritual Journey: Local Homestay at Ausangate Mountain

Join us on a transformative two-day journey from Cusco to the awe-inspiring Ausangate Mountain, where sacred traditions and dramatic Andean landscapes come together. On day one, we travel through the South Valley, enjoy authentic local cuisine, and take part in a spiritual ceremony guided by an Andean shaman, set against the powerful presence of Ausangate. The day concludes with an overnight stay in a warm and welcoming local homestay, immersed in this sacred high-altitude environment.

On day two, begin the morning at the mystical Otorongo Lagoon, where an Andean ceremony offers deeper insight into Inca cosmology and a meaningful connection with nature. After a nourishing lunch in Pacchanta, we return to Cusco, carrying with us lasting memories, renewed energy, and a profound sense of balance. This experience offers a unique blend of cultural immersion, spiritual connection, and natural beauty - an unforgettable journey in the heart of the Andes.

We recommend staying in Cusco for at least four days prior to this travel program to allow your body sufficient time to acclimatize to the altitude.

Schedule

Day 1: Cusco - Pacchanta - Ausangate

We'll start our trip from Cusco, heading towards the South Valley for about 3 hours until we reach the Pacchanta community near the Ausangate mountain. Next, we'll either hop on horses or walk to explore the Ausangate mountain landscape. Along the way, we'll stop for breakfast at a local family's house. Then, we'll continue our journey towards Ausangate. Once we arrive, we'll be welcomed into another local family's home, where we'll have a coca leaf oracle reading with our Andean shaman. After lunch, we'll participate in some spiritual cleansing ceremonies right in front of the Ausangate mountain. We will spend the night at a local homestay close to Ausangate and enjoy a local dinner.

Day 2: Ausangate - Pacchanta - Cusco

Today, we'll kick off our day with breakfast before heading to the Otorongo Lagoon, a special spot in the Ausangate area. It's about a 25-minute walk to reach the lagoon, where we'll participate in a significant Andean ceremony led by our local priest. This ceremony is all about expressing gratitude and connecting with nature and ourselves. Our Andean shaman will share insights into Inca cosmology and ancient practices. After this meaningful experience, we'll go back to Pacchanta for lunch and then take our transportation back to Cusco.
