About this Retreat
Having studied science as well as music in college and being a surfer, I was familiar with aspects of energy and structure. I went on to study meditative arts and Asian methods of self healing, eventually earning a degree in Physical Therapy, specializing in osteopathic direct hands-on approaches. This included the privilege of studying with Fritz Smith, M.D., the developer of Zero Balancing and assisting in the teaching program. I have been a manual physical therapist and teacher since 1978, currently working in New Paltz and Nyack, NY.
For Ben, Zero Balancing is a gift that he has the privilege of giving almost every day. Though his clinical work is often concerned with alleviating obstacles to optimal body energy flow, it is equally concerned with amplifying what is already working, allowing clients to drop deeply into their own healing reserves.
Ben Fleisher LAc, is a dad, a NYS Licensed Acupuncturist (since 2010), a certified Zero Balancer (since 2008) and a certified Zero Balancing Teacher. He began his professional bodywork career in 2001. Ben is the owner of Woodstock Healing Arts in Woodstock, NY, where he maintains a private practice.
Details of this retreat
The study of Zero Balancing goes beyond learning a body/mind system of therapy. It provides basic theory, information and skills regarding body energy, movement and body structure. We teach how to use energy itself as a working tool, and how to relate subtle touch to the bone, skeleton and bio-fields of the body. This information will enhance any system of therapy that utilizes touch.
Zero Balancing is a system that elevates the understanding and skill of manual therapeutics. In the class, we will develop heightened sensitivity, touch refinement, accessing flows within the skeletal system that engender deep stillness and ideal function. Zero Balancing interfaces with who we are in our bones. It adds a unique integrity to our work and amplifies the patient/client’s experience. It fills a missing piece in the pantheon of body-mind therapies.
This course is ideal for bodyworkers, therapists, acupuncturists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and physicians. Practitioners in the healing arts seeking to add value to their practice will benefit from Zero Balancing. It is a new touch skill that is simple, effective, and profound.
