MIRA Putumayo - 12 days ayahuasca retreat with Cofan shamans

This past weekend was my first experience with plant medicine and although it’s been a few days, I am still floating in the waves of Yagè! I was, like many others, worried about what my initial contact with plant medicine would be like! Would I even be able to make it through the experience?! As soon as I arrived at the beautiful and serene location in the countryside the Vision Mira team took such good care of me and were ready to answer all my questions. Throughout the three ceremonies I felt safe, protected and healed both physically and spiritually! My experience with Yagé (Ayahuasca) was in no shape or form ”easy”. That’s why I’m beyond grateful to the Vision Mira team for their guidance and care. All I can say is I left the retreat with a clear mind, love for the universe and a healed heart.

I am beyond grateful to have had this experience with you guys. Dani, your healing powers are magic! Your words guided me through the hardest part of my journey. Thank you! This was my first experience with the medicin. I was a bit worried in the beginning but with the guidens from the group I felt completely safe. I had an experience that I’ll never forget. It was healing for all my past. The group guided me through the whole experience.
I highly recommend that if anyone wants/needs to do this kind of retreat is to go to a group like vision mira that are professional and traditional.
The location was also amazing.
During day time I took small walks to reflect over the ceremonies.

This retreat revealed something obvious yet easy to forget: consciousness is far more malleable than we ordinarily recognise. Across three ceremonies in the safe, healing hands of Mira, Ayahuasca was at times gentle, restorative, and ecstatic - at other times stormy, cathartic, and physically overwhelming. What seemed like chaos often became healing, as the body released tension and trauma stored for years. Through breath, music, touch, and ceremony, moments that might be explained as neurochemistry felt indistinguishable from magic.

So ive just got back from a weekend with the Mira family.
Id been thinking about participating in an ayahuasca retreat for some time and had done an amazing amount of homework to get to know exactly what I was about to experience! I unfortunately didnt have the time to travel too far due to personal circumstances and cost.
This place was very reasonably priced and very doable, so i decided to reach out!
Well this weekend absolutely shattered all my expectations. I had made contact and spoke with Paula on the phone, she explained everything to me and also stayed in touch until I got to the retreat.
I knew I was already in good hands from speaking to her on the phone and feeling the caring vibe that she had.
I had such a profound experience, these guys work miracles! Ive seen it for myself!
I just cant believe ive been on this earth for 46 years looking for answers and to feel good in myself. Why didnt I do this sooner? Maybe I wasn't ready? I was this weekend gone and I will be forever in debt to Paula, Xavier and Daniel!
These people are the real deal! The connection I had was Truly magic and I have made some new friends for life!
The place was just lovely, comfortable, spacious and the food was also delicious!
I was totally taken care of and even still now they keep in touch with my integration back into my normal daily life.
If you are reading this you are already on the right path! Do it! You will not be disappointed! Big love to everyone including Katya, Phil, Julius and Andy!

Starting with a long phone call with Paula before receiving confirmation (to make sure it's a good fit and to answer all my questions) I was made to feel so absolutely safe, supported and welcomed by the entire team of MIRA every step of the way.
I was picked up from the train station by the lovely woman who owns the house we stayed at for the duration of the retreat. She dedicated herself to care for us like a mother and made me feel at home at all times during the four days I stayed there. The facilities were absolutely lovely and the location was really great. The beautiful stone house is right in the middle of nature, which felt so peaceful and there´s nothing more special than being able to witness the sun rise in absolute silence after each ceremony.
Through our sharing circles I know, that very single person in the group had a profound experience that felt like it deeply changed them and my personal experience was more than I could have ever hoped for.

I was dealing with a lot of resistance during the first two ceremonies, so much that I am sure it was very difficult to deal with me and Paula, Xavi, Dani and Taita Samith each showed me so much grace and helped me so patiently in their very own way in finding the trust to surrender to the medicine so she could give me exactly what I didn´t know I needed.

On the morning after the first ceremony, I had my first encounter with Kambo. I was the only person wanting to participate on that day while many others decided for the day after so I offered to join this group to not cause any inconvenience. Paula and Xavi decided to do the ceremony anyway, just with me. Letting myself being cared for by these two very special humans, having their full attention and accepting and surrendering to all of it was a moment of profound healing in and of itself for me, who is so used to always care for others.

It is very difficult to find a retreat that is authentic, decolonial and not rooted in the commercialization of the indigenous culture, and it is almost impossible to do so in Europe. Believe me, I have searched for quite some time. Vision MIRA is just that. I left with deep gratitude, wonder and profound appreciation for the chance of having been in the presence of such immense indigenous wisdom and love and I am humbled by the dedication put forth by the whole team in bringing healing to those who seek it. I will be returning with absolute certainty.

The beautiful humans of Vision MIRA have created something truly amazing and special and I fully and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone.
