With over 25 years of experience, Juan is a guiding light for future generations. He dedicates his time to teaching children about ancestral medicine, helping preserve their traditions. Specializing in trauma healing and building inner confidence, Juan is deeply passionate about his work. Despite his expertise, he is often described as a gentle and pure soul, making him exceptional for integration.
Recognized as one of the finest healers in his province, Juan's contributions to his community are widely celebrated. He holds the unique distinction of being crowned as a shaman by all seven elders of his community—an honor that speaks to his profound knowledge and dedication to ancestral plant medicine.
While many claim the title of healer, taita, or shaman, it’s crucial to note that only three certified shamans in Ecuador under the elder age exist—two in the Amazon and the third being Juan. This rare recognition is both a privilege and a tremendous honor for him, his family, and his community.
With over 60 years of experience, he has collaborated with scientists, anthropologists, researchers, and doctors worldwide to deepen the understanding of healing practices. His expertise lies in working with energy and auras, addressing negative energies, and treating various illnesses.
All three shamans are not only practitioners but also teachers, sharing their knowledge of diverse healing techniques and offering shamanic training for those eager to learn. However, it's essential to understand that mastering these practices takes time and cannot be achieved overnight.
With over 50 years of experience, he has shared his healing gifts across numerous countries and has been recognized as one of the finest Ecuadorian healers. A member of the Andes Summit, his powerful icaros and cleansing techniques leave a lasting impact, resonating deeply within those who experience them.
Certified in lymphatic drainage, he serves as the director and head of the retreat. We offer private cabins ,cabins for couples, family cabins, glamping and for the ones that prefer we have camping available. All cabins have electricity. We have bathrooms, showers, baths of hot volcanic rocks and temascal. Also resting areas and hammocks. We also have lower rooms for people with special accommodations.
