About this Retreat
The founder of the current monastery, the late Lama Tashi Gyaltsen, was ordained and educated at Samten Ling and later became an active member of the monastery.
He also spent several years at Diptse Chokling and was deeply involved in both monasteries. Today, the monastery is home to 25 monks, including five from the original Diptse Chokling monastery who now serve as teachers to younger monks. Mr. Tenzin Lama, the director and mentor, is known for his compassion and spiritual presence.
