We will give you the methodology to use your practices of yoga, meditation and numerology to apply them in the most concrete, grounded way possible.
Our goal is to give you all the tools to completely reset yourself and to take these changes with you as you integrate this transformation into your life.

Details of this retreat

Shiatsu is a form of massage performed through loose clothing. Treatment is based on the diagnosis of the bodily organs, each of which has a tendency to become either full and constricted or empty and depleted. This process is mirrored in the subtle changes we make as we adapt in response to whatever is facing us - often through under or over compensating and therefore the binding or leaking of our energy. This leads over time to many health problems whether physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual.

By creating a more harmonious flow we can set up a dynamic and vibrant energy exchange, eliminate tension and fatigue and release the knots that bind us.

Each day will start with early morning yoga, meditation and chanting and throughout this time we will use kriyas (sequences of asanas), stretches and meditations focusing of self healing and healing others

Schedule

*Every day starts at 05.30 with early morning yoga and meditation (should you choose to join). This ends at 08.00.
*In the evening from 18.30 we chant together for half an hour.
*On Saturdays there is a fuller programme which runs from 18.00 to 19.00.
*After breakfast there are 3 hours of shiatsu demonstrations and practice
*After lunch your time is your own and you are free to explore

All sessions are optional.

Directions

Arrival by taxi;
Terminal 1: After leaving Customs, turn left and continue walking towards the P2 car park for pick up from both Bolt and Uber.

Terminal 2: After collecting your luggage, cross the "Welcome" gate and enter the Arrivals hall. Go right and follow the signs for Terminal 22. Take the short escalator or stairs to the upper level, then leave the terminal through the Terminal 2 - Exit gates on the left side. The Uber pick-up point is at the Kiss&Fly parking next to the Terminal 2 shuttle bus stop 2. TAKE THE TAXI TO THE PEPSOL PETROL STATION IN POBRAL WHERE I WILL MEET YOU TO TAKE YOU TO AMAR DAS.

By metro and bus;

From Lisbon’s airport, take the metro and get off at Rossio station (green line).

You should then take the train at Rossio Station, and continue to Portela de Sintra station.

From there, take the bus Carris Metropolitana (bus number 1633) to Ericeira and EXIT AT THE STOP OPPOSITE THE REPSOL PETROL STATION IN THE VILLAGE OF POBRAL. I WILL MEET YOU THERE.

It can take 2 hours to get from the airport to Pobral and if you unfamiliar with the changes or if you miss a bus and have to wait, longer.

The 1633 bus from Sintra goes every 33 to 92 minutes during the week. On weekends only every 2 hours so it is recommended to get a taxi from Lisbon airport. Bolt or Uber taxis cost between 30 and 40 euros.

Accommodation

Our main cabin is made from entirely eco friendly materials; wood, straw, clay and sand form a earthern plaster for a room that is entirely breathable. Your room looks out onto a forest glade. When you walk out onto the terrace you are inmmersed in nature with trees all around and beautiful bird song. Cabin 2 A small 'palletable cobin' made in a similar way to cabin 1. Your room looks out onto your own enclosed forest garden. The campervan is a Mazda Bongo which sleeps 1 (or a couple), parked discretly amongst bushes, a cork and a pine tree. The van is where the views of the land are most stunning. Ancient oaks, olive, acorn trees and many plants and herbs unique to this region can be found here. You're room is next to the yoga shala and near to the shower and toilets. It is at the same time hidden from view and private.

Amar Das is set in a picturesque valley with no immediate neighbours and 1500 square metres of land for your exclusive use. It is also 2 kms from the biggest Kundalini Yoga ashram in Europe. We are only 40 minutes drive from Lisbon airport (27 km). 15 minutes from the hip surf town of Ericeira and 22 from Sintra. The nearest beach, and our favourite, is 5 minutes drive away. This area is famed for its biodiversity with a micro climate which means Summer temperatures dont usually go above 30.

What's Included

In this training you will learn how to give a basic Shiatsu treatment for the back whereby the bladder meridian can be used to treat all other bodily organs. Key acupressure points will be learnt and practised.
Videos with numerous stretches/asanas, kriyas and meditations for each organ.
3 hours of shiatsu training and practice.
A vegan breakfast, lunch and dinner, water and tea.
