Dian Packer
Has always been a seeker of spirituality, as a small child she always was speaking to her higher self and to divine source. She always had a knowing that she was more than a body, and earth was not her permanent home. She was very shy as a child and was an observer of her surroundings. Many times she felt alone on earth and that she didn't belong there. But always knew that she was never alone as she always had conversation with God and that the spirit world was her home and has always felt supported by the divine world. She married her soulmate in 1971. Her husband and her 5 children and 21 grandchildren and one great grand baby have come into her life. They were guided to the Paso Robles area to raise their family, and most of the family lives in the area. She felt the call to buy property to build a home and raise her children surrounded by nature. They purchased their 5 acre property in 1976. They began designing and building their home. Which is now the Serenity Yoga Wellness Retreat Center.
She always knew she wanted to have a large family and a forever partner in life. She grew up loving to sew her own clothes as a teenager and baking goodies, singing in choir and loved being in nature climbing trees, skateboarding, swimming, and doing diving tricks, and was always seen doing cartwheels rumbling tricks that were all self taught. As she looks back on her life she sees how guided her life has been. She was always conscientious about what to put in her body/mind.
She chose to have all her children naturally and had the last two children born at home. As a young mother she sewed most of the children's clothes, and made all the meals from scratch, grinding her own wheat, and making her own bread... See has served in her community, church, and owned a retail store that brought out her creativity. Her Craft Store “Chantilly Lace” is one of her highlights, being a youth leader, spending time with family and friends. She has always treasured her home and has loved offering events on her property. She loves gardening, serving, food, and entertaining parties and has even offered weddings on her property. Her five children all have had wedding receptions on the grounds. She enjoyed making flower arrangements, and all the details for weddings. Now enjoys hosting High Teas 5 course meals on the retreat grounds.
Dian states“I feel that I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none/, and I will forever be a learner”.
In 2002 She began offering yoga classes on her property and began developing her property into a yoga retreat center. She continued to get certification at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm in Grass Valley, Ca as well as many online course training....
She purchased a Building on main street in Templeton Ca in 2007 to open a yoga studio.
That was called Serenity Natural Living. Where yoga classes were offered daily and yoga workshops occasionally.
A second building was purchased in 2007 on Park street in Paso Robles, a beautiful Victorian home to start offering Yoga Retreats. This was the Serenity Wellness Inn. Later it was Changed to the Serenity Tea House Inn. As the 2008 crash made it not sustainable to only offer yoga retreats.
Dian had to come up with a new plan to move forward and in meditation was given the new name and was inspired to take things she learned from Chantilly Lace and doing weddings and incorporate it into the new concept of offering the home as a bed and breakfast with yoga and spa as an add on. The High Tea were opened to the public as well to have tea party events, and community events like mothers day high tea, children high tea parties... There was a spa room built on the grounds and massages were offered there. Both buildings were sold so that the retreat grounds could build out spa treatment rooms, Yoga Healing Temple for sound healing. Outdoor bathroom by the swimming pool with showers for day guests and those coming in for retreats. A Tiki hut house's a large infrared sauna with salt walls & color therapy. Two outdoor kitchens, one by the Neptune salt water swimming pool, and one in the courtyard by the creek. Called the creekside dining room. The hot tub is in a private enclosure by the pool. Dian is an avid gardener and has enjoyed designing healing gardens throughout the five acre property estate.
The guest farmhouse has been receiving guests since about two 2009.
Dian has been offering day retreats and private groups for many years on the retreat grounds.
The goal has been to offer group retreats once everything was built out, and finding the right partner to work with to make this happen. We are now at that stage in the plan. A new addition was started in September 2024 The Grandroom This large room will be a multipurpose space for indoor conference room, workshops, indoor yoga. We will call it the grand dining room when needing to feed a large group. It will be the grand yoga room when needing a large indoor space to hold yoga... Dian states “We are very excited about this new addition. It will open to the main kitchen of the facility. The kitchen is being renovated and is projected to be finished by early spring.
Along with this project coming soon are more overnight options: some grand Tepees will be installed by a partnership soon, for a fun overnight stay and some meditation, and ceremonial usages.
Dian was told in 2003 that she was being released from calling in church and was called to serve in healing the world. She has had private individuals come from all over the world to her healing private retreats, and now is opening the doors 2025 for group retreats as well for those wanting to expand their consciousness, and heal from the past.
Dian started doing yoga for five years before she got her first certification in 2002 and in 2003 dove deeper in her yoga training as she packed her bags and lived at the Sivananda Ashram yoga Farm for a deep classical yoga training. She returned for several years to study Ayurveda, and has a Yoga wellness Ayurveda certification, sound healing courses, and has taking some on liner course the study of herbs, and High Priesthood, as well as her and her husband took a course together Vastu (like Feng this is the Ayurvedic science of breathing life into space. A deep understanding of energy and placement.
Both Dian and her husband have a love of architectural design, color and placement. They designed their own home, and gardens and this course was a nice validation that they were in touch with where things should be placed for the highest potential.
