Tambo – Founder of Medicinas Ancestrales
Tambo is a spiritual guide and the founder of Medicinas Ancestrales, a heart-centered project rooted in the sacred traditions of the Amazon and Andes. Born in El Salvador and initiated in the jungles of Putumayo, Colombia, Tambo carries the ancient wisdom of the Yagé tradition in his soul. Since 2013, he has been walking the medicine path, and in 2016 he founded Medicinas Ancestrales to share the healing power of sacred plants across Latin America and beyond.
With over 12 years of experience, Tambo has guided thousands of people through powerful healing processes with ancestral medicines such as Ayahuasca, Kambó, Bufo Alvarius, Rapé, and Xanga. His work has helped build strong, committed medicine communities in El Salvador and Panama, and his path has taken him throughout Central America, South America, and Europe.
Tambo’s retreats are not just ceremonies—they are immersive journeys of remembrance, reconnection, and awakening. Held in sacred spaces surrounded by nature, each experience is guided with deep presence, live medicine music, prayer, and silence. His icaros and chants open doors to other dimensions, helping participants access visions, clarity, and healing.
As a facilitator, Tambo is humble, powerful, and profoundly dedicated. He creates a safe and nurturing space where each person is seen, respected, and supported. With deep compassion and integrity, he allows the medicine to lead the way, offering steady guidance while honoring each individual’s unique process.
Medicinas Ancestrales is a heart-driven community with over a decade of experience, committed to healing, transformation, and inner growth through the sacred use of ancestral plant medicines. We honor the wisdom of indigenous lineages and believe these medicines offer a powerful path to reconnect with our true essence, release deep wounds, and remember our purpose on Earth.
All of the plant medicines we work with—especially our Yagé—are cultivated, prepared, and cooked with reverence by traditional families in Putumayo, Colombia. They are brought to ceremony spaces with prayer, care, and the same ancestral methods that have been passed down for generations.
We currently host monthly ceremonies in Panama and El Salvador, and we’re often invited to serve in other countries across Central and South America and Europe. In every gathering, our mission remains the same: to hold sacred space with love, presence, and respect, supporting each person on their path of self-discovery, healing, and transformation.
