Details of this retreat

Pisatahua Ecolodge is a sacred space in the Bolivian Amazon to work with plant medicines, including ayahuasca. Found in the heart of the Aquicuana Reserve, our 80-hectare center is situated in an area of impressive biodiversity. This breathtaking location provides an ideal environment to heal, expand consciousness, and connect with the wonders of the Amazon.

We organize master plant ceremonies, with medicines including ayahausca, wachuma, tobacco and coca. We facilitate shamanic diets to learn and heal with traditional plant medicines in close consultation with our healers. We organize small-group retreats to ensure that each individual receives the personalized attention they require.

Our healers come from diverse backgrounds of wisdom-traditions from the Amazon and Andes. They are responsible and respected community members, dedicated to the shamanic path, with decades of experience. Alongside our support staff, we hold small-group retreats with honor, safety and respect.

Accommodation

Pisatahua was carefully designed to maximize the comfort of our guests, while minimizing our impact on the environment. All cabins were constructed with sustainably harvested secondary-growth rainforest materials. We went to great lengths to minimize the removal of any vegetation and utilize energy efficient technologies. All cabins were designed through the adaptation of local construction techniques to meet the needs of our guests. We worked hard to ensure they are comfortable, clean and safe. Cabins are secluded from their neighbors and extremely spacious (30 square meters/ 323 square feet). They are fully furnished with with running water, private bathrooms, washbasins and showers. Cabins have high thatched-roofs and sit one meter above the jungle floor. Each cabin room comes equipped with 2 twin/or 1 super-king bed, shelving, solar-powered lighting, night-stands, an indoor hammock, a writing desk, chairs, and fresh drinking water. We also provide fresh linens, towels and can arrange for laundry service. All cabins are situated facing the lake with enormous windows to maximize ventilation and views of the Aquicuana Reserve.

Life changing is an understatement
I went to Pisatahua knowing that I needed to disconnect and redirect. Visiting the Amazon had been a life long dream, so I knew that the location would be enough. What I found was much more than I could have ever imagined. Entering the retreat space, I was an immediately calm, shocking. Coming from the US, living in a major city, and spending time in this space, quite literallly made my anxiety disappear. The ceremonies were life changing, clarifying the path that I was headed and letting go of the pain that was no longer serving me. Wara is a magical person. She is able to provide a level of comfort and protection that I sensed immediately. This made all of the fears of taking the medicine for the first time away and instead replaced with an excitement for the lessons I was to gain. Her wisdom is something that I will take with me for the rest of my life. I suffer from PTSD and this retreat has transformed the way I deal with fear on a daily basis. I'm no longer stuck and I feel free to live my life in the way that I chose. The connections and lessons that I made in the retreat will be something I take with me forever. To be in a place where I can heal, with people intending to do the same and supporting me through it, was everything. Today, I am back in the US but no longer living with overwhelming fear and anxiety. Life seems more manageable and I never knew that could exist for me, but it does. Thank you Pisatahua for sharing the magic and serving as a sacred vessel for healing and growth.

Indescribable experience
Coming to Pitasahua is one of the best decisions of my life!
I found pieces of myself I didnt even know were missing.
If you've heard Mother Ayahuasca's call, don't doubt any longer and come to this place.
If you are ready to face your fears, this place will help you transcend. My heart forever belongs in this place and with its people. Forever grateful !!!

Forever grateful
Well, that was definitely a difficult process, but I got so much out of it.
Being honest I don’t know how I could thanks Wara, the shaman, for the amazing work she did. She is the definition of kindness. She cared about us so well, going way beyond what we all expected of her. She is also a working beast, never stoping, to make sure you get what you truly need. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work with such a beautiful soul.
And Marlene, the volunteer assisting Wara during this retreat, was completing her perfectly. Looking out for us at all time. Always so considerate, with compassion and love.
The place is beautiful, the food was great (the strict diet wasn’t a problem for me at all), ceremonies felt safe and well handled, but Wara and Marlene are what made it so special for me. If my journey leads me to the medicina again, I’ll most definitely seek them out.

What an experience
I really have no words to describe my experience - possibly one of the hardest most fulfilling , most rememberable times of my six month holiday. A huge thank you to the staff, Erik, new friends and above all Wara. My heart is full

Never to old to learn
I at 59 was the elder of our small group, the whole experience taught me a lot about myself and the lives we all lead. A fantastic experience for myself and my wife and clearly the group we were with.
It was not always easy but 100% worthwhile.

Many thanks
