Details of this retreat

Experience a profound journey into silence and self-discovery with our 10-Day Silent Retreat at Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville. This immersive program begins with a Silent Full Moon Retreat led by Satya Greenstone, and seamlessly transitions into an extended period of sacred silence.

During the 10 days, participants are freed from the distractions of daily life, including technology, communication, and external stimuli. This isolation creates a conducive environment for practitioners to turn their attention inward and explore the depths of their consciousness. As the days progress, many participants experience a gradual calming of the mind. The initial challenges of restlessness and mental chatter begin to subside, allowing for deeper states of meditation and self-awareness. This process of mental purification is essential for advancing in the practice of mouna (silence). By the latter part of the retreat, many participants find they can sit for longer periods without discomfort, achieving states of deep concentration and inner stillness. This progression allows for more profound insights and spiritual experiences to emerge. The practice of mouna during this retreat goes beyond mere absence of speech. It encompasses a holistic approach to silence, including mindful movement, eating, and even thinking. This comprehensive silence creates a powerful container for spiritual transformation and self-discovery.

Immerse yourself in the serene environment of Yogaville, surrounded by the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, as you journey inward to uncover your true nature and abide in your inner light.
