Details of this retreat
A profound source of human unrest is the struggle to clearly know God’s Will for our lives. To address this fundamental challenge, this retreat offers profound wisdom from the spiritual tradition of Saint Ignatius of Loyola.
Saint Ignatius developed the powerful tool known as the Discernment of Spirits, a set of rules and guidelines developed to help a person recognize and understand the different movements within the soul. The practice’s ultimate goal is to distinguish the influence of God, The Holy Spirit, from the prompts of the Evil Spirit in order to make decisions that align with God’s will.
Join Jesuit Priest Paul O'Connor for this transformative day of reflection on how to use this powerful method to discover the gift of peace by discerning God’s Will for our lives.
King David Tragedy and Triumph A Story of Perseverance
This was an incredible retreat. Fr. Edward, Father, Shawn , and the entire Benedictine community made it special. Prayer with the monks was soothing. I learned so much about the Bible and its history. From a spiritual perspective, I would give this retreat 10 points on a 10 point scale.
My only suggestion is a logistical one. frequently, I got lost, trying to navigate from room to room. A directional map would be helpful. Thank you.

2026 Retreat Feedback
Another very rewarding retreat! Thanks to Fr. Ed for his inspirational talks and Fr. Shawn for another well organized weekend. I enjoyed the faith sharing in the dining hall and getting to know other retreatants.
As always, the food was excellent.
Already looking forward to next year!

A Meaningful and Reflective Retreat
This men’s retreat was a meaningful and spiritually enriching experience. The reflections on King David offered thoughtful insights into perseverance, failure, repentance, and the importance of continually turning back to God.
The Benedictine monks were also incredibly kind, welcoming, and generous throughout the retreat, which made the experience even more memorable. I left feeling grateful, encouraged, and better prepared to apply these lessons in my own life.

Lectio Divina Retreat
I thought the retreat was just great. The monk who gave the retreat was personable and knowledgeable. I have been to over 20 retreats in my lifetime. I would go to St. Vincents Archabby again.
