About this Retreat
Alessandro Russino is a professional photographer with over 30 years of experience. He began his career in Bologna, moved to Milan, and later settled in New York, where he spent 15 years working in fashion and branding with international agencies and brands. His work blends reportage, visual storytelling, and an instinctive approach to capturing authentic moments.
Today, Alessandro lives in Bali, where he continues his photography practice and develops projects combining creativity, culture, and personal exploration. He is co-founder of HYPR3 and works under SQRSUN (Square Sun) to create unique experiences that connect people to their own visual language.

This 10-day photography retreat in Bali is designed for anyone who wants to explore creative storytelling and develop a more authentic, personal approach to visual narrative. Whether you use a phone or a professional camera, you will learn to build a sequence of images that express a unique point of view.
The retreat includes daily workshops, guided photography sessions, and time to reflect and share your work. You will discover a side of Bali that many travelers never see, with visits to beaches, cities, villages, and cultural sites. Accommodation and transport within Bali are included, along with mentoring and a welcome kit to support your experience.
Program Overview:
Day 0 – Arrival and Orientation
Check in, rest after your journey, and get comfortable. The welcome meeting and introduction will take place the following day.
Day 1 – Introduction to Point of View
Morning workshop on observation and intention in photography. Afternoon photo walk to begin practicing new perspectives.
Day 2 – Beach Day
Guided shoot on the beach focusing on simple subjects and natural light. Group review of images in the afternoon.
Day 3 – Discovering Personal Interests
Workshop to help you define your personal focus. Individual shooting time with one-to-one support.
Day 4 – Bukit Exploration
A full day exploring the Bukit peninsula, including hidden beaches and cliffs. Time for personal projects.
Day 5 – Denpasar Immersion
Visit to markets and local neighborhoods to capture daily life and contrast.
Day 6 – Ubud
Photography in rice terraces and traditional workshops. Emphasis on storytelling and environmental portraits.
Day 7 – Tegallalang
Early morning session in the rice fields, with attention to patterns and composition.
Day 8 – Amed
Trip to the east coast with fishing villages and volcanic beaches.
Day 9 – Free Day and Mentoring
Flexible schedule for revisiting locations or developing your personal project. One-to-one mentoring available.
Day 10 – Story Assembly and Presentation
Editing and sequencing your final set of images. Group sharing and closing circle.
