ABOUT: The Activation of the Mind-Body Unit & Trauma Release in one course
Why tackle your health issues in a one-dimensional fashion when you can handle them holistically with the psychosomatic medicine approach?
Psychosomatic Medicine recognizes the intricate dance between our mental and physical well-being, showing us that what happens in our minds can manifest in our bodies and vice versa. By tapping into this mind-body connection, we gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and unlock the potential for true balance. It simultaneously reveals the interplay of our thoughts, feelings, and experiences, coupled with bodily signs and symptoms.
Stress, anxiety, negative thought patterns, and unresolved emotional issues have all been linked to a weakened immune system, increased inflammation, chronic pain and heightened susceptibility to various disorders. Likewise, it has been established that psychological variables like adverse experiences and depression can worsen the symptoms of some disorders and prolong recovery times.
Trauma, especially when unconscious or silent, can be embodied and expressed through specific trigger points or it may be reflected in dysfunctional patterns.
OVERVIEW: a 5-day interactive series of workshops dedicated to emotions and somatic work
We will start our journey with understanding what the mind-body unit is and how to draw a psychosomatic map of the self, connecting physical symptoms to emotional distress and conflicts. Together, we will explore the intriguing world of family dynamics, roles, bonds and cognitive schemes. We will also learn how to professionally draw and interpret a Genogram, facilitating access to memories, insights and history re-framing.
The practical side will let you explore the dynamic staging or enacting of your story through a series of performances and techniques including Gestalt exercises and somatic release.
