About this Retreat
My name is Dimitra, though many know me as Ieri Pnoi, a name that means “Sacred Breath.” I have the joy and honor of managing Ariadne’s Garden, a place where inner and outer landscapes meet.
My journey brings me at the crossroads of the soul and the image, the body and the sacred. I hold a BA in Philosophy from the University of Athens and an MA in Dance & Movement Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths, University of London. I’ve walked alongside people facing profound life challenges—children and elders, people recovering from addiction, individuals living with mental illness or chronic disease, and communities/ institutions in Greece, London, Egypt, Iran, Bali and India—offering support through therapeutic movement, and the arts.
My interest in Depth psychology and my practice in therapy have shaped me into a listener—of the invisible, the mythical. Whether I’m facilitating a therapeutic workshop or curating an art residency, I have an ear for the soul beneath. My current therapeutic focus centers on shadow work through archetypal exploration, weaving myth, movement, and the symbolic arts. As a certified yoga instructor and trainee, I wish to gently and intuitively bring the body into the presence of the breath.
Parallel to this, my artistic path was shaped by Byzantine iconography, which I studied under the guidance of prof. G. Kordis. I was captivated by its technique and philosophy—its echo of ancient Greece and its timeless presence in the modern psyche. My work has evolved into what I call Visionary Art—a blend of Byzantine form, surrealism, symbolism, and transcendental inspiration, and it aspires to be a tool for remembering.
I bring these threads in open dialogue—movement, art, shadow work & myth.
Here, we welcome the dragon and the dove, the wound and the wonder.
With love and breath,
Dimitra (Ieri Pnoi)
