About this Retreat
Based in the peaceful mountains of San Agustín Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico, Carey is a multi-faceted wellness guide, yoga teacher, and lifelong student of the healing arts. A passionate traveler, she once converted a van into a camper and journeyed across the U.S. and Mexico—an adventure that deepened her connection to nature, freedom, and intuitive living.
Her professional path is as rich and diverse as her travels. With a background in business management and consulting, Carey has owned and operated her own dog-walking business, served on the board of an animal rescue non-profit, and guided others toward balance through her work as a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and holistic health coach.
As a certified yoga teacher, qi gong instructor, and shamanic practitioner, she blends ancient wisdom with modern healing practices. Her approach is intuitive, compassionate, and rooted in nature, offering a space where movement, stillness, and spiritual exploration come together.
Whether guiding a yoga class, leading a meditation, or supporting others on their wellness journey, Carey brings a grounded presence, a deep love for animals and the earth, and an open heart for all who are called to grow and heal.
Details of this retreat
Come and enjoy a magical Day of the Dead Retreat! Where we are Rooted in Remembrace honoring the ancestors and cycles of life.
Join a sacred circle of six women in the heart of Oaxaca during one of Mexico’s most soulful seasons — Día de los Muertos. This intimate retreat weaves together gentle yoga, creative flow, ancestral remembrance, and deep sisterhood in a space held with care, reverence, and warmth.
Each day begins with guided yoga to ground the body and awaken the breath, followed by time to connect and reflect, to honor in love and ritual. We’ll explore traditional altars (ofrendas), connect with local customs, and honor our own lineages in ceremony within and together as a collective.
This retreat is for women seeking something real — a slower rhythm, meaningful connection, peace outside of the hustle and bustle, and the quiet magic that unfolds when we come together with openness and intention.
See why Travel + Leisure has ranked Oaxaca City among the world’s best cities in 2020, 2022, and 2023—and experience Día de los Muertos, an unforgettable celebration that sells out every year.
