Why study with them?
Hello there,
I'm Stefan, originally from the Netherlands but currently based in Switzerland. I started my career at age 17 managing a helicopter harbour and then moved into Retail Management. My desire for travel and adventure led me to quit my job and embark on a journey hitchhiking through countries, lodging with locals, and embracing the unknown. A fellow couchsurfer told me about a place in Switzerland where I could teach English and spend the winter skiing. That chance encounter was how I ended up in Switzerland doing just that.
The first camp in 2018 led to many more until I was working full time for friLingue camps. In 2020 I co-founded Ski-Hostel with the goal of making skiing in Switzerland affordable. One of our goals was creating spaces that resonate with fellow adventurers and digital nomads alike and from this coliving.friLingue was born to bring colivers and adventurers to our locations in Switzerland. Last year we created our first crowd-funded coliving space: Swiss Alps Coliving. Our idea is to use this concept to bring life back to un-loved properties in rural areas and to empower groups of nomads to bring a community to places that are ideal for those who are location independent.
Our goal is to expand the locations available to help or collaborate with others to create similar spaces that bring like minded people together.
When I look back to my early days of organising weekends with the water scouts or language camps with friLingue, I can see how it has led me to where I am today, being co-owner of the largest Nomad Festival and co-founder of the Swiss Nomad Fest and Snomad Fest!
So here's to chance encounters, seizing the moment and embarking on journeys fuelled by curiosity and adventure who knows what it might lead to!
