About the Teacher
Why study with them?
The Buddhist path found Karen in this lifetime in the early 2000s thanks to a slow drip of Dharma offered by a business colleague in Hong Kong who continues to be a dear Dharma sister. After several years receiving teachings with Mingyur Rinpoche's Tergar online community, she was surprised to find Natural Dharma Fellowship in her native state. The magnet of Wonderwell, the inspiring teachings of Lama Liz and Lama Willa and the jewel of sangha have drawn her closer and closer ever since.
As a student of Vajrayana and Dzogchen, she also deeply connects with Anam Thubten, Jetsumna Tenzin Palmo and Lama Rod Owens as heart teachers. Her practice is drawn to the wisdom and compassion of interdependence and meeting challenges as profound teachers on the path. Devotion and integration are her humble daily goals.
She feels honored and blessed to be an apprentice in NDF's Advanced Teacher Initiative and to serve the Dharma and the Sangha as NDF's Managing Director.
Karen lives in New Hampshire's Lakes Region with her two creative daughters and her pampered dog, while her engineering son resides near Boston. She is an avid sailor, a language nerd, and immerses in the natural world whenever and however possible.
