About the Teacher

Why study with them?

JP’s interest in psychedelics began in 2010, when we first started seeing a resurgence of research in this field. A deep dive into this world sparked a fascination that still burns strong today, for the intersection between plants, neuroscience and psychology. His own intentional work has, over the years, played an important role in his growth and healing. It also inspired him to learn how to help others get the most out of their own work with psychedelics.

His natural curiosity about the human condition led him to study a BA Hons in Philosophy, with minors in Psychology and Literature. While this course of study was engaging, it was ultimately unsatisfying. It was only when he discovered meditation, and delved into the rich history of this practice, that he found what he was looking for. The distinction here, and what he believes is so powerful about work with non-ordinary states of consciousness, is the difference between a direct felt experience versus engaging only at a conceptual level. He has since developed a long-term meditation practice, which has been a great support in his life, and which shows very promising synergies with psychedelic work.

Besides his work as a facilitator, JP has a career as a Sustainability Consultant having worked within the real estate, corporate and agricultural sectors for 15 years. The overarching goal of this work is to help companies facilitate a transition to environmentally sustainable business practices. He is inspired by the synergies between the macro drive for systems-level change and the deeply personal transformations that are made possible with this work. He looks forward to the day when corporate teams feel more comfortable using this tool for facilitated groupwork, creative exploration and transformation.
