ABOUT SHIVAJI
For more than two decades, Shivaji has immersed himself in the transformative power of yoga, tirelessly seeking a practice that transcends passing trends and reconnects with timeless wisdom. His journey, which began in the late 1990s, has been one of continuous devotion and authentic exploration.
In 2010, his path led him to Los Angeles, where he first delved into Yogi Bhajan’s Kundalini Yoga before being drawn to the disciplined elegance of Hatha and Iyengar Yoga. Four years of intensive study at the prestigious Iyengar Institute of Los Angeles refined his mastery of asana and instilled the technical precision that now defines his teaching.
When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted his certification process, Shivaji embraced it as an opportunity for deeper transformation, embarking on a spiritual pilgrimage that forever changed his practice. From the lush landscapes of Bali to the sacred sites of India, his journey unfolded as a story of devotion and self-discovery.
In India, Shivaji received rare initiations into three sacred lineages:
– Kriya Yoga of the Sri Yukteswar tradition
– Kundalini Yoga
– Sri Vidya Tantra lineage
During this profound period, his guru recognized his spiritual depth and bestowed upon him the name “Shivaji”, inspired by his Vedic astrological chart. These experiences not only shaped his identity but deepened his connection to yoga as a path of self-realization and inner awakening.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
As a teacher, Shivaji has shared his wisdom across the world — from the sacred banks of Rishikesh, through his own school Viyoga in Koh Phangan, Thailand, to Bali. He is currently teaching at Osho Glimpse in Mysore, offering a unique synthesis of:
– Hatha Yoga with precise alignment principles
– Kriya Yoga for awakening inner energy
– Pranayama techniques for expanding vital force
– Chakra Sadhana for energetic balance
– Meditative practices for mental clarity and purification
His teachings draw upon the timeless wisdom of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and embody the sacred union of Shiva and Shakti, guiding students to shed conditioned layers and rediscover their most authentic selves.
For Shivaji, yoga is a comprehensive system of transformation. His classes harmoniously integrate physical practice with spiritual depth, creating an experience that transcends the mat and becomes a path toward greater awareness, meaning, and joy.
