Kate Dakers

About the Teacher

Why study with them?

A passionate and experienced coach whose journey in combat sports began with Karate and evolved into a deep commitment to women’s boxing. Her approach is centred on creating safe, empowering spaces—especially for women and girls—where they can build strength, confidence, and community through movement.

Originally from Zimbabwe and later based in the UK, Kate’s path took her from Boxercise instruction to Olympic-style boxing, where she developed both her technical expertise and a strong focus on inclusive coaching. She founded the Northern Powerhouse Boxing Academy, the UK’s first women-led boxing club, and played an active role in national coaching programmes, including England Boxing’s Female Development Team.

Kate’s experience extends beyond the ring. She has worked extensively with young people, marginalised groups, and vulnerable women, bringing empathy and purpose to all aspects of her work.

Now based in Malaga, Spain, her coaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that combat-based movement offers far more than physical fitness. She continues to hold space for women to come together not to change how they look, but to shift how they feel—using boxing and structured movement to release stress, regulate the nervous system, build confidence, and reconnect with inner strength. Her approach goes beyond aesthetics, focusing instead on mental resilience, emotional wellbeing, and the empowering connection between body and mind.
