About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Nana Jeruxa is an Ajq’ij (Mayan Priest), Traditional Doctor, Sobadora, and Temazcalera from Mexico.
A Mazahua descendant, she has walked this sacred path for more than 20 years. Her spiritual journey began as a priest within the Mayan Kaqchikel tradition of Guatemala. Over the years, she has worked in various communities alongside Mayan elders from the Quintana Roo Peninsula and Yucatán, Mexico.
She is a member of the Council of Nuevo Sol Mayan Priests and has participated in linguistic gatherings of Indigenous peoples. Nana Jeruxa has also been a speaker at the International Women’s Meeting “We Move Forward” and the Latin American International Women’s Gathering.
Deeply committed to preserving traditional medicine, Mayan spirituality, and ancestral wisdom, she has promoted numerous initiatives to keep these practices alive. As a Traditional Doctor, she specializes in the prevention of women’s illnesses through Mayan massage (sobada) and the temazcal ritual—restoring balance, vitality, and connection to the sacred feminine.
