Taita Wari
Tonatiuh Taita Wari is a celebrated traditional healer who has walked the Red Road with deep devotion and discipline. His journey began with pre-hispanic Aztec dance, studying under master Izcuintli at the great teocalli in Cholula, Puebla, where he first connected movement and spirit as a living prayer.
He went on to complete múltiple vision quests guided by two experienced sundancers, grandfather Huicho and grandmother Lula at the mountains of sierra madre oriental in Mexico, where his relationship to the earth, the fire, and ancestral forces deepened. Grandfather May actívated his kundalini energy with a crystal skull. For many years he attended hundreds of ceremonies with some Cofan tribe taitas from Colombia, and his path then led him to the Amazon jungle in Putumayo, Colombia, where in 2021, he received a special blessing from the great Taita Querubin, a 108-year-old spiritual elder known as a guardian of wisdom.
Tonatiuh has studied with many grandfathers and grandmothers from many different traditions across the world. He worked with the sundancers as Felipe Ríos from Chile, in alliance with Yawanawa.
Also with medicine woman Daniela Manríquez and Ozelotl Galindo at Xochimilco. He studied also under the world renown Marakame Santos López de la Cruz, from the Wixarika tribe, learning sacred ways of vision and prayer from one of the most respected lineages of México.
His journey also included studies in traditional herbalism, as well as therapeutic massage and kinesiology under the guidance of Guillermo Caraza and other recognized elders.
Today, Taita Wari continues his sacred work through shamanic healing ancestral ceremonies, and the creation of permaculture and biodynamic gardens that honor the living intelligence of the earth.
