Why study with them?

Tamala Floyd, LCSW is a psychotherapist, author, consultant, and retreat facilitator. She received a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern California and an undergraduate degree in psychology from California State University–Long Beach. She has expertise in childhood abuse, women’s trauma and domestic violence. Her work focuses on women’s trauma, mothering, and relationship issues, helping women identify and heal emotional wounds and coaching them in achieving fulfilling life goals. Her new book entitled, “Listening When Parts Speak: A Practical Guide to Healing with Internal Family Systems Therapy and Ancestor Wisdom,” focuses on healing personal and intergenerational trauma with the support of ancestors.

Tamala combines her love of travel and generational trauma work by hosting international retreats for women. The retreats bring women together in small intimate groups to release legacy burdens, embrace ancestral heirlooms, while deepening relationship with ancestors and other women.

She has been married to her husband for over 25 years. They are digital nomads traveling internationally since June 2022. They have five adult children between them, three of whom are adopted.
