About this Retreat
Leah Johnson is an author, artist, and transformational speaker who helps people heal through creativity, joy, and connection with the Divine. After a 25-year career in politics and public service—including serving as a City Councilwoman and working on national campaigns—Leah experienced burnout from what she calls her “addiction to success.” That unraveling became a sacred turning point, leading her to discover art and intentional creativity as powerful tools for healing and transformation.
Leah is the founder of Finding Fantastic Joy and the Mama Monarch Center in Colorado, where she guides workshops, retreats, and community gatherings. She is the author of Finding Fantastic Joy and the forthcoming Girl! Baptize Yourself, both of which share her journey of leaving behind what no longer served her to step into a life of joy, creativity, and soulful purpose.
Through her retreats in Teotihuacán, Mexico, Leah weaves together sacred ceremony, intentional creativity, and the wisdom of the Divine Feminine to create spaces where women and seekers can release old stories, reclaim their voices, and remember their wholeness.
Authentic, compassionate, and joy-centered, Leah believes that healing is possible for everyone—and that creativity is medicine for the soul.
Details of this retreat
The Women’s Journey Retreat in Teotihuacán, Mexico is a 7-day, 6-night immersion into healing, creativity, and the sacred. Set among the ancient pyramids and vibrant traditions of Mexico, this retreat is designed to help you release what no longer serves you, reconnect with your creative spirit, and awaken the Divine Feminine within.
Each day we gather in circle, ceremony, and creative practice—painting, journaling, storytelling, and ritual—woven together with excursions to powerful sacred sites. You’ll walk the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, explore hidden caves, float in a hot air balloon at sunrise, and journey into Mexico City to visit Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul and the Basilica of Guadalupe.
Our home for the week, Villa Las Campanas, is a beautiful retreat center just steps from the pyramids. With nourishing meals, peaceful gardens, and an art studio onsite, it provides the perfect container for both inner reflection and shared community.
This retreat is for women and seekers ready to shed old stories, heal grief and transition, and remember the joy that has always been theirs. You don’t need to be an artist to join us—just bring an open heart. By the end of the journey, you’ll return home lighter, braver, and more deeply connected to your true self.
