About this Retreat
Mille is an Oslo born Sauna Master who has escaped the big city to live her Island dream on Ylvingen. She has trained with renowned masters of the Lithuanian 'Pirtis' style of sauna. Mille is also a certified Reiki practitioner and has experience as a meditation guide for both women's and mixed groups.
Mille's passion for sauna came after a long illness. Following countless treatments, experiments, and soul-searching, she found sauna and was able to heal herself with the power of steam and contrast therapy. It's now her mission to share the magic of sauna with the world.
Details of this retreat
Set on the remote island of Ylvingen along the stunning Helgeland coast, this 5-day immersive camp offers a rare opportunity to reconnect with nature, body, and soul. Located within the UNESCO-listed Vega Archipelago the environment is both dramatic and deeply tranquil.
At the heart of the experience is a rich exploration of global sauna traditions. Guests will take part in guided rituals including aufguss, sauna meditation, traditional Baltic pirtis, and other heat-based practices designed to restore, energize, and ground. These sessions are complemented by invigorating cold-water immersion in the surrounding Arctic waters.
Beyond the sauna, the program blends movement, stillness, and exploration. Days may include sea kayaking through pristine coastal landscapes, scenic island hikes, and deeply restorative practices such as yoga nidra, meditation, and a cacao ceremony.
The camp is fully catered, with nourishing breakfasts, lunches, and dinners provided throughout the stay. Accommodation options include both shared and private rooms, allowing guests to tailor their experience to their preferences.
This is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and experience the raw beauty of Northern Norway through a carefully curated balance of ritual, adventure, and rest.
