Retreat Highlights
Yandara’s Yin & Restorative Yoga Training is a 9-day elective course of the Yandara Advanced 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program. During these 9 nourishing days together, we will explore the practices and principles of Yin & Restorative Yoga. We will prioritize the body-mind-spirit connection and the cultivation of a calmer state of being through these daily regenerative and healing yoga practices. Upon completion of this course, students that are already registered with Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level will be credited with 100 hours toward Yandara’s Advanced 300 hour Yoga Alliance Certification. We also welcome dedicated practitioners and yoga teachers to attend this course simply as a yoga retreat to deepen your practice or for Yoga Alliance Continuing Education (YACEP) credits.
Amber was drawn to yoga to relieve her body from the daily aches and pains caused by sports injuries in her early 20’s. “It has been key to keep my body and mind in a place of comfort and contentment.”
Amber’s first yoga teacher was her mother, Mercy Ananda, a long time yogini and kirtan musician and part of the Yandara faculty. Amber describes her mother as “one of the most inspiring women she has ever known.”
For Amber, yoga is a way of life rather than a practice. As well as being a devoted yogini on all levels, Amber is an inspired surfer. She has learned to surf the waves of the ocean as well as the waves of life as yoga teacher, a householder, and a loving mother to her daughter Coral.
Forever in love with the flow of the ocean, Amber teaches and practices a fluid Vinyasa style, her students describe her classes as fun and dynamic with a strong emphasis on arriving in the present moment.
Since completing her first 200-hour training in 2008, Amber has had the priveledge to learn from and teach with all the amazing instructors at the Yandara yoga Institute. Amber has also received her 500 hour certification as well as a certification in Prenatal Yoga.
Quote:
“If someone asked me to describe myself in three words i would say strong, silly and kind. To me, Yoga is freedom.”
Mandalay first came to Yandara Yoga Institute as a student in 2016, completing her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training before returning to Los Angeles to begin teaching.
During a daily meditation practice, she received a clear vision of women moving together through cat–cow in a prenatal yoga class. That moment sparked her calling to expand her work into the prenatal and birth space.
She later became a DONA-certified doula and a HypnoBirthing® educator, supporting couples through pregnancy and birth with a focus on breath, connection, and empowerment.
Mandalay also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Northern Arizona University, bringing together her background in education, birth support, and yoga to guide parents-to-be through this profound life transition.
Sarasvati brings an open mind and an open heart to the mat. A lover of the Ocean and the Elements, she often ties her classes into the themes of nature. She loves exploring Yoga as an expression of the joy and abundance all around us.
Sarasvati has been studying and teaching with Yandara since 2009. She is an inspired devotional musician and has had the pleasure of studying mantra and kirtan with her mother, Mercy Ananda. Her receptive and joyful nature invites exploration on the mat and a playful outlook on life.
Inspired by the transformations she sees in the students at Yandara, Sarasvati holds a loving space for all to express their unique gifts with the community. More than anything, she believes in the power of a group, where each individual puts the best parts of themselves forward to heal the Earth and all beings!
Student Testimonial
Sarasvati is truly an inspiration and a beacon of light! She is knowledgable and gifted. Her radiant energy and her kindness are an absolute joy!

This heart-centered prenatal yoga training is designed to equip yoga teachers with the knowledge, confidence, and sensitivity to support families through the transformative journey of pregnancy and postpartum.
Rooted in evidence-based birth education, we explore how yoga can support the physical, emotional, and psychological experience of pregnancy while preparing teachers to guide students safely and compassionately.
Throughout the course, you will learn how to adapt yoga practices for pregnancy, support nervous system regulation through breathwork, and create meaningful community in prenatal classes.
