Yoga Retreat for Parents and Adventures for Children From 5 - 12
Yoga is for everyone, though sometimes for parents it can be difficult to give it the time and attention you would like. For this reason, the parent and child course is organised. You get to reconnect with your inner self while simultaneously your child goes out for adventures. Activities are Monday to Friday from 09:30 to 12:30.
For the Parents
This week is especially for yoga practitioners who want to improve their technique. You will be supported in holding the correct posture. You will receive guidance in finding suitable intermediate steps depending on your own capacity and limitations. Special attention will be paid to your body type and which asanas are suitable or not for you. You do not need to master the asanas to participate in this week.
The activities include workshops and group sessions, but also practical exercises such as asanas, pranayama, and meditation. Attention is paid to your personal situation or difficulties.
In this week you will learn Indian Classical Yoga. This is based on the Asanas as they are described in Hatha Yoga. Hatha Yoga was practiced by Yogis who practiced this within their own community throughout the day. The physical and mental state of the Hatha Yogis was different from ours, who are exposed to the burdens and rumors of contemporary society. In Indian Classical Yoga, the Asanas have been modified to a limited extent so that we still experience its benefits, but it does not pose any dangers to our physical well-being.
For the Children
The children participate to activities under the spell of the theme The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The children have adventures in an abundance of nature where they need to work together and explore. There are creative activities with natural materials and they play a lot of games. Not only do they have fun, but they learn a lot from being outside in a group dynamic. Every theme week has a few life values at its core, which are tools for the children to handle life.
In a hole underground lives a hobbit. Hobbits are a peace-loving people who love good food but keep to themselves and want nothing to do with the world of great men. Everything changes when a Wizard enters the land of the hobbits and puts a mark on the door of the house of one of the hobbits. Dwarves come along who need help on a very special mission. This sets in motion a chain of events leading to the finding of the One Ring of the Dark Lord and what happens to this ring determines the fate of all of Middle Earth and all the creatures that inhabit it.
The activities are for children from ages 5 to 12 and will be conducted for a mixed group speaking Dutch and English. The program is simultaneous with the adult program. It is possible for adults without children to sign up for the retreat.
