About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

Soltara at Goddess Falls welcomes you into a space of panoramic wonder, sacred ceremony, and rooted transformation. Located in the Diamante Valley, a region celebrated for its bountiful wildlife, countless waterfalls, and lush rainforest environment. Poised on a ridge within a private nature sanctuary spanning over 200 acres, this location offers sweeping views of the stunning valley below.
Soltara at Goddess Falls offers the same trusted, heart-centered healing you’ve come to know - guided by our Shipibo healers, experienced facilitators, and an unwavering commitment to safety, support, and integrity. Rooted in the wisdom of the Peruvian Shipibo tradition and sacred plant medicine, we also integrate complementary healing practices - both traditional and modern - to support your journey of self-discovery. With decades of collective experience in ceremony and medicine work, our team holds a loving, expertly held space for deep transformation.
Our Commitment To You
We are called to serve medicine in sacred ceremony with integrity, humility, and compassion. By creating a safe space and working only with experienced, well-intentioned healers and facilitators, we uphold the lessons of the medicines and build a foundation of mutual trust, authenticity, and respect. We are not gurus, preachers, or enlightened beings – our healers are maestros who humbly transmit the knowledge and healing energies of the plants, and our facilitators are devoted to helping guests face, process, and explore difficult experiences and emotions, handle projections, manage expectations, and surrender to the process. We strive to uphold the highest integrity in everything we do and be a beacon for responsible, safe, and ethical practices, such that our guests feel safe and supported to get the most out of their healing.

Menu Types

We believe healing even takes place in the kitchen. We take on the mantra by the Greek physician, Hippocrates: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” We honor the role of food in our lives and expand it beyond its primary purpose of bodily nourishment – food can be an avenue to dig deeper into ourselves, consciously looking at our patterns and mindsets surrounding not just what we eat, but how and why we eat what we do. Our eating habits don’t just affect our mental health, they also reflect it. At Soltara, we aim to help you jumpstart this process of connection through conscious cooking on all levels. Diet is an important part of the healing process, both on its own and also to help prepare the mind and body for plant medicine work. We work closely with our shamans to prepare wholesome, delicious meals that adhere to the traditional dietary guidelines of working with ayahuasca. All of our meals are freshly prepared in-house by our loving kitchen staff. From fresh smoothies and juices every morning, to plant-based meals emphasizing local, organic, and sustainable produce, to lean proteins such a chicken and fish, we celebrate the rich local flavor of Costa Rican cuisine, and offer a chance to experience a connection to the land and culture while nourishing the body, mind, and spirit.

Amazing journey
This retreat far exceeded my already monumentally high expectations. From the accommodations to the food to the amazingly intuitive staff, Soltara had it all. I was EXTREMELY anxious heading into the trip but was met with warm, caring, patient, experienced people who instantly eased my anxious mind and provided a safe space for me to heal. There are not enough words to describe how profound my experience was at Soltara. I will be forever grateful for this experience.

A Truly Transformational Experience – Deep Healing in a Sacred Space
My time at Soltara Healing Center was nothing short of life-changing. As a novice plant medicine participant, I felt completely supported, safe, and cared for from the moment I arrived. The staff’s expert knowledge—especially from Nicolas, Frieda, and Bonnie—helped guide me with patience, wisdom, and deep compassion. Their professionalism and warmth created a nurturing environment where healing felt not only possible but inevitable.

Nestled in the lush Costa Rican jungle and just a short walk from a serene beach, Soltara offers the perfect setting for spiritual exploration and inner work. The center itself is stunning—upscale, modern rooms with air conditioning, spacious bathrooms, and large outdoor balconies make it easy to relax and focus inward. Every corner of the property is infused with intention, from the sacred ceremony spaces to the beautifully curated communal areas.

The food was another highlight—vibrant, healthy, and prepared with such love and care. Every meal prepared by Jessie and his team supported the healing process, aligning with the plant medicine work and leaving me feeling nourished in every way.

Most importantly, the traditional Shipibo Maestros are the heart of this experience. With decades of experience, their approach is deeply authentic and unlike anything I’ve encountered elsewhere. Their presence, songs (icaros), and spiritual insight opened up levels of healing and connection I didn't know were possible. I felt truly held in a sacred tradition, honored with integrity and respect.

Soltara is not just a retreat—it's a sanctuary for soul-level healing. I left feeling more connected, whole, and empowered than I ever imagined. I will absolutely return for my next plant medicine journey.

Goddess Falls - July 2025
I am days into integrating one of the most profound experiences of my life. Last week, I attended a 7 day retreat (my first time with ayahuasca) at Goddess Falls and my mind, body, and spirit have been cleansed and nurtured on such a deep level, it’s hard to articulate the depth and breadth of it all…

Soltara’s healing team are exceptional. Their individual and collective capacity to cultivate and hold a container of safety, acceptance, and respect for a group of 16+ people’s vulnerability is evident. They are attuned to journeyers during the social (unstructured) times, meal times, and especially during ceremonies. They are able to meet each journeyer where they are at and provide such presence and care for each person. They are not trained as therapists, though they *do* know the nervous system, Jungian psychology, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) model very well to support the healing process and acute integration of material that’s coming up for journeyers. (Professionally, I am a certified EMDR therapist specialized in attachment trauma and interweave IFS into my clinical work - I was so impressed with their utilization of the model!)

Soltara’s facilities team are equally attentive, keeping our physical spaces (rooms, bathrooms) cared for, and our bellies nourished with delicious, fresh foods. The grounds at Goddess Falls are gorgeous - the experience really is of glamping. The tents are even equipped with AC to use in the evening!

I have so much love and reverence for my fellow journeyers, our maestros, Soltara’s staff, and for myself. If you feel called to meet ayahuasca, rest assured, you are in gentle, conscious, and experienced hands at Soltara. I am so grateful for it all and will certainly be back for another phase of healing later down the road.
