Heir to the ancient Payaguaje and Quenamá lineages, from the Siona and Cofán traditions,
Grandfather Rufino is one of the last guardians of the true ancestral science of Yagé.
Initiated at the age of eight, he was chosen and trained to become a master of the medicine and the spirit world.
His apprenticeship was long and demanding:
he learned from eleven different taitas and spent years in isolation,
far from the noise of the western world,
to receive the purest knowledge as it was handed down by the ancestors.
In 1996, with the blessing and permission of his elders,
he began to travel beyond the jungle, carrying the medicine across territories and borders.
Since then, he has dedicated his life to serving humanity:
sharing the teachings of Yagé, protecting his community, and walking as a living bridge between worlds.
Grandfather Rufino does not only share ceremonies;
he transmits the living spirit of the jungle:
its strength, its humility, its love.
During the retreat, he will guide part of the Yagé ceremonies
and offer traditional tobacco cleanses, working with profound wisdom,
purity of intention, and the sweetness of a true elder.

Xavier, Paula, and Daniel are the living heart of Visión Mira.
They are more than a team: they are a family, united by respect, trust, and a shared purpose.
Daniel and Xavier have been close friends for more than twenty years.
Together they walked through many worlds until the call of Yagé medicine found them.
In 2016, destiny brought Paula into their lives.
Her steady, luminous presence gradually wove itself into their story, becoming an essential pillar.
After many twists, turns, and lessons, five years ago the Great Spirit showed them it was time to join forces in a single direction.
Since then, they have traveled hand in hand to the heart of the Putumayo jungle and to other sacred territories, learning from many elders and traditions.
It has not been an easy road:
they have faced challenges, crossed stages, and deepened their bond through every step.
Today, they cannot imagine growing old except together —and always accompanied by the medicine of Yagé.
Visión Mira was born and is sustained by this spirit:
the living example of a chosen family, honoring unity, respect, and love as paths for healing and remembering.

Taita Samith was born in Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia,
but his true roots were planted in the sacred territory of Santa Rosa de Sucumbíos,
among the Cofán people.
There, under the guidance of Grandfather Guillermo Lucitante Yaiguaje,
he spent eight years as an apprentice —
learning the science of Yagé and the ways of the jungle,
living side by side with a true lineage of elders.
Taita Samith is not only a bearer of knowledge,
he is a light on the path:
a living example of humility, commitment, respect, and love.
His mastery shines in the ceremonies he holds,
in the medicine he cooks,
and in the simple way he walks through life —
honoring his family, his wife, his children, and the sacred commitment he carries.

During the retreat, Taita Samith will guide the sacred Yagé brewing workshop,
lead two Yagé ceremonies,
and hold the traditional purgative ritual known as 'El Vomitivo' —

Not what expected
I expected it different since the fotos in the website were so irrelevant with the reality.The hosting of the house because is a house and not a retreat was very good but the whole staying there showed not professionalism for the ceremony no guidance or feedback for the people who was their first time and in general not worth this kind of money since it was something very different unprofessional despite what is advertised in shamanzon website!

Ceremony with Taita Bryan
The retreat was very well organised, the Taita was super professional and from direct lineage. There were many spaceholders facilitating help and integration, making the space really safe and energetically well managed. My personal experience was profound and transformative. I did not leave the same person that I arrived as, in the best of senses. I am very grateful I found Shamanzon to have my first plant medicine ceremony. I highly recommend. However, i recommend to not have expectations on a particular experience cause the experience itself will surprise you in the most positive way if you are open to it.
