Details of this retreat

This event will be led by two exceptional facilitators, both of whom provide a breadth of knowledge, combining years of studying with master teachers and plants, profound life experiences, a personal commitment to their own inner work, and a lifelong dedication to facilitating personal transformation.

Curandero #1: Originally from Mexico and now based in Canada, this leader has a deep understanding of the Shipibo tradition of working with plant medicine. He is a talented musician, playing various instruments including the harp, kora, guitar, and drum. He brings extensive experience with plant dietas and will share invaluable knowledge and tools during the retreat. He will also contribute his healing abilities, Ikaros, and music during the ceremonies.

This Curandero will provide insight into the Shipibo Plant Technology, shedding light on the methodology and science behind the ancient practices used by Shipibo healers.

Curandero #2: An Authorized Continuum Movement Teacher, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, Inquiry-Based Coach, and retreat facilitator, and mother with training in pre- and perinatal/attachment and bonding, process work, somatic therapies, and parts work.

She is dedicated to creating safe and sacred containers for deep transformation, self-discovery, and integrated healing. Her passion lies in fostering intimate connections, wholesome embodied awareness, and guiding others on their healing and awakening journeys.

Her experience on the path with Amazonian Medicine began 16 years ago, meeting her core Medicine Teacher, Doña Cristina, over 12 years ago. Cristina represents and honours the evolving path of the Quechua-mestizo tradition in Peru. The sacred songs and ways have been passed on and shared with this facilitator, holding deep resonant vibrations of harmony, health, and an unshakeable trust in the power of love to hold, heal, and integrate all that arises.

They have worked together in facilitating ceremony for the last 10 years and together create a beautifully powerful circle.

Directions

We are a 50-minute drive north of Nelson, BC, just outside the charming village of Kaslo. We are 9 hours by car from Vancouver, and 8 hours from Calgary. These drives are incredibly beautiful, wending through some of North America's most spectacular mountain terrain. There are flights (approx. 1 hour) from both Vancouver & Calgary to our nearest airport, in Castlegar, which is a scenic 1.5 hours from our door.

Driving from Nelson, follow highway 3A north to Balfour (Kootenay Lake ferry landing), and proceed another 20-25 minutes on Highway 31 north. There is a "Sentinel Retreat" blue road sign on the highway (approx. 60 km from Nelson). Slow down and prepare to take a sharp right turn onto Amundsen Road. The team is solid, and we were well taken care of
I enjoyed a transformative women's retreat here with Anastasia Chomlack and felt like the Sentinel staff was really well organized, and on top of the needs of my facilitators. They were always available for the many last minute things that come up at group events. Gorgeous setting, everything was really clean, and beautiful. The food was delicious -- they did a great job at that too.

Warm, Grounding, Expansive Luxury!
This space is held by the land and you can feel that every nook, cranny, gathering, grounding, rest, community and sacred space has been devotionally created to host people in their expansion.

First, the staff are outstanding. Hands down the warmest hospitality and attention to our needs.

The shared rooms were luxurious with private on-suites, soft linens, stocked bathroom, blackout curtains, and gorgeous views.

The gathering house and meals were delicious and cosy. Perfect for deep conversations and delicious healthy meals in soft and inviting spaces.

The Maloca overlooking the lake was spectacular! What a sacred space for ceremony, integration, yoga, stretching, breathwork...and my fav: dancing! :)

The amenities were also outstanding: hot tub, dock, waterfront, green space, hammocks, viewpoints, sauna, cold plunge....nothing was forgotten (including dairy-free latte machine- yum!)

Cannot wait to come back and experience this gorgeous property!

Starlight Medicine Retreat: 5/5 stars!
I had an amazing retreat experience at The Sentinel with Sarah Salter-Kelly. Sarah and The Sentinel staff work so well together to provide a very safe container for deep work, the retreat was well organized with all the details worked out. The accommodations and meals were absolutely amazing.

Sarah is a powerful healer, space holder and wisdom keeper. She gives her all in retreats and you feel very seen, heard and loved. I always learn
so much from her and leave her retreats feeling centered, grounded, empowered and that layers of healing have been tended to. I highly recommend Sarah Salter-Kelly and The Sentinel.
