Virginie

Virginie is the founder of Casa Oraya and facilitates intimate retreats centred on plant medicine, presence, body awareness and human connection. Her role begins before the retreat through an individual conversation with each participant, allowing her to understand their intentions, previous experiences, health situation and any particular needs. During the retreat, Virginie remains present throughout the experience, offering individual guidance, grounding practices, sharing circles and reflective workshops. For some participants — particularly women and those approaching plant medicine for the first time — having a continuous feminine presence within the facilitation team brings an additional sense of trust and ease. Her approach is not to interpret the experience for another person or to push participants toward a particular understanding. During the retreat, the emphasis remains on presence: experiencing the body, the senses, emotions, memories, images, resistance, silence and whatever may arise as fully as possible. At the same time, Virginie helps participants prepare for the integration that will continue after the retreat. Through carefully guided questions and workshops, she invites them to explore different dimensions of what has been experienced — somatic, psychological, physiological, philosophical, spiritual and symbolic — without reducing the experience to a single explanation. The intention is not to understand everything immediately, but to begin creating reference points that can later help each person integrate the experience into everyday life. After the retreat, Virginie offers practical integration tools and encourages participants to continue listening to what unfolds over time. When additional therapeutic or psychoanalytic support may be beneficial, she encourages them to work with an appropriately qualified professional. Her intention is to create a warm, honest and carefully held space where people can slow down, remain fully present to their experience and leave with meaningful tools to continue the work in their own lives.

Day 1 — Arrival & Preparation

Arrival at the retreat space near Barcelona.

Time to settle in, meet your facilitators, explore your intentions and become familiar with the environment.

A day dedicated to the first ceremony, subject to individual suitability, followed by attentive accompaniment and time for recovery.

Day 3 — Personal Journey & Reflection

Continued individual support, with the possibility of a second ceremony only when appropriate and agreed upon.

Time for rest, reflection and integration.

Day 4 — Integration & Departure

Breakfast, a private integration conversation and time to reflect on the experience.

Closing of the retreat and departure.

Casa Oraya

Directions

Casa Oraya retreats take place in carefully selected natural settings across Catalonia. The exact venue may vary depending on the retreat date and will be shared with confirmed participants.

Before arrival, we provide detailed travel information, the exact address and driving directions. When the venue is accessible by train, pick-up from the nearest station is included and coordinated in advance.

For participants arriving at Barcelona Airport, Casa Oraya can help arrange a taxi to the venue. The taxi fare is not included and is paid by the participant.

Accommodation

Accommodation is simple and shared. Depending on the layout of the venue, participants may sleep in shared rooms or together in the ceremony space. Each participant has an individual 80 × 200 cm mattress and their own sleeping area. Bathrooms and communal spaces are shared. The group is limited to a maximum of 12 participants.

Meals are simple, fresh and nourishing, prepared with care to support the rhythm of the ceremonies without feeling heavy. Two main vegetarian meals are served each day, with fresh fruit and light snacks available between meals. We use fresh, organic ingredients and favour local produce whenever possible. Vegan and gluten-free meals can be provided when requested in advance. Meal times and portions may be adjusted according to the ceremonial schedule and the needs of the group. Sharing food is also part of the retreat: a time to slow down, reconnect and gather naturally around the same table.

Great experience

I felt very safe and comfortable during the three ceremonies with Virginie and her team. For my first experience with Ayahuasca, it was ideal, as I received the support I needed and felt a sense of mutual trust.
The setting, the surroundings, the music and everything around it felt very well chosen and fitting.
All in all, it is difficult to point to specific details, because it was such a complex and almost indescribable experience. But overall, the experience really convinced me. I’m very grateful that I got to have this unforgettable experience with the group, and I would definitely do it again with Virginie and recommend her to others.
