Nikki Szeghalmi

Nikki grew up just outside Toronto, Canada and currently lives nestled amongst the Andes in the Sacred Valley of Peru. As a teacher dedicated to working with people with special needs and at-risk youth, she has devoted her life to being a support to others. Coming from a background of addiction and depression, she was called to Peru in 2018 to start working with her teachers Bernard Kashagen and Chase Moore for a deep dive into her healing. Wanting others to experience the grace of the medicine as she has, she offers a safe space of presence and love, weaving in various mind, body, and energetic practices. She is a balance of grit and softness, embodying permission for each guest to explore their unique experience with the medicine. With deep reverence for the magic that unfolds in ceremony and thereafter, she meets each individual where they’re at. She loves to play with life and you’ll often find her cracking jokes and laughing, seeking lightness and joy amidst the challenges of life.

Kimberly is the co-founder of Ananda Lodge Costa Rica and a certified somatic trauma-informed medicine facilitator and integration guide.

As an empathic medicine woman, Kimberly brings over 20 years of personal coaching and five years of sacred medicine work. Having moved through the depths of corporate burnout herself, she turned to ancient healing traditions for soul reconnection — and has been walking others through those same thresholds ever since. Kimberly is a certified sound healing therapist trained in plant medicine facilitation and integration through the lens of somatic trauma therapy. With deep reverence for the Shipibo-Konibo tribe, she continues to apprentice in ayahuasca shamanism and facilitation. Kimberly holds the ceremonial container with warmth, depth, and unwavering compassion for women navigating the terrain of midlife transformation.

I cannot say enough about my experience at Ananda.

From the moment I saw their website through to the very last minute of the retreat, Ananda provided an authentic and meaningful experience that was everything I was looking for and more. They are truly committed to providing a healing space and meaningful guidance throughout your journey, which starts several weeks prior to your visit in the preparation phase, and for several weeks after your return home in the integration phase, both of which include super helpful guides and one-on-one video calls.

Kimberly, Jason, and Chase were with me every step of the way, providing a safe and nurturing space for my experience. I also can’t say enough about Camillo, who prepared healthy and DELICIOUS food that was exactly what I needed right when I needed it.

I could write a million more words and it still wouldn’t express how important this experience was for me. The whole Ananda team truly meets you where you are. I can’t wait to go back 😊❤️

Beautiful healing experience

I did an Aya retreat here and it was amazing. What makes Ananda stand out from other places is their small group sizes and the amount of integration and care they put into your experience, even before you arrive and after you return home. The ceremony was run by an indigenous Shipibo shaman which gave that true authentic experience I was looking for and you get to directly connect and hangout with the shaman throughout your stay. They have comfortable rooms with a/c and beautiful views, an excellent chef that would make us healthy and delicious meals, and a warm staff all focused on your healing. There are many places in Costa Rica for plant medicine but Ananda is truly special and unique in their approach.

Life changing experience

I have done Ayahuasca in the Amazon with an outhouse and a communal shower with no running hot water. I have also done Aya at Rythmia a couple times- high end resort like environment. In my opinion, Ananda is the best of both worlds. Small group setting in the jungle, but beautiful rooms and well done space. And the fact that they flew in a Shapibo Shaman from Pulcalpa- you really couldn’t ask for more in a retreat. The amount of care that the owners have for each person that they host is beautiful. And I had an experience I’ve never had before- integration with the Shaman after every ceremony. That’s actually very rare in the retreat space. I will continue to send others their way because they have created a beautiful sacred place for ceremony. Not to mention the land itself holding divine energy. Your life will be forever changed.
