About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

We offer seven day retreats nestled in a Mediterranean paradise, designed for you to meet your inner most authentic self and take a soul level transformation.
Our Slow Living Retreats provide the tools to unlock our potential and re-connect with our authentic self. When we take the time to pause from our thinking mind, pull off the masks that we wear to let ourselves be seen, be present with how we feel in our bodies, take a long exhale and sit with our truth, we enter Slow Living.
Each retreat has a diverse programme incorporating relaxation, exploration, creativity, transformative experiences in both a 1:1 personal setting and a community environment.

Samudra is located in the middle of the Mediterranean sea on the island of Gozo in the village of Qala. Gozo, which means 'joy', is a little spit of land sitting in the sea with a unique rocky coastal landscape, waters so crystal-clear and the sky so bright blue that you’ll have to rub your eyes to believe what you are seeing. We host you within our 400-year-old farmhouses that sit across the road from one another. Experience authentic Mediterranean living on your retreat with us.

Samudra is a wellness sanctuary creating deep transformational journeys rooted in ancient wisdom and holistic healing practices. By providing a safe space to rest, reflect and nurture ourselves we return to stability, presence and stillness. From this place we can face our deep-rooted anxieties and fears, question old belief-systems and expand our awareness. Through transformational therapies, practices and rituals we can integrate knowledge into our body and access expansive states of consciousness.

This retreat accommodates from 4 to 8 guests across our beautiful, 400-year-old traditional farmhouses each with their own private pools and views to melt your senses.

Samudra Retreats Gozo
I recently returned from a retreat on Gozo island that exceeded every expectation I had. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely welcomed and cared for. The setting was peaceful and beautifull

The schedule struck the perfect balance between structured activities and personal time. Each session was thoughtfully led, with facilitators who were not only knowledgeable but genuinely passionate about what they were offering. Whether it was meditation, yoga, deep conversations, 1.1 treatments every experience felt meaningful and intentional.
The team Mia, Luca, Kevin, Beatrice & Iris cared deeply for each one of us

The food was nourishing and delicious, with every meal crafted with love.. thank you Nico you are truly gifted.

I’m so grateful for this experience and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking space to reflect, grow, and reconnect—with themselves and others.

Deidre (5 sisters).

Renewed sense of hope, inner peace, and calm
Talking with Luca gave me a renewed sense of hope, inner peace, and calm. She also offered practical guidance and ideas that I can use to take meaningful steps toward making changes in my life.

Hearing someone put into words the very things I’ve quietly struggled with was powerful. Her story, her struggles, background, and the ways she has moved through them (along with the journeys of other leaders at the retreat), made me feel far less alone. It helped me build confidence in trusting myself and honouring my own needs - whether it is needing rest or alone time after socializing, feeling overwhelmed in cities, or sensing that certain environments just don’t align with my energy.

When Luca shared the kinds of environments where people like me can thrive - Ashrams, Yoga Schools, Meditation Centres, Permaculture Communities - it opened up a whole new world of realistic possibilities. She also shared specific places and countries to explore, and generously provided a list of communities to check out. Knowing there are spaces where people live in alignment, with mutual respect and without judgment, gave me hope that the life I need is truly possible.

Some of these ideas I had heard before, but hearing them once again from someone else, who obviously deeply understands and has had a similar lived experience, and others at the retreat allowed the truth to land more fully this time. It moved from something I understood intellectually to something I now believe and feel on a deeper, more embodied level.

I’m leaving with so much to reflect on, both from our conversation and the retreat as a whole.

Authenticity, Guidance, Insights, Thought provoking questions, Support
Talking with Kevin at one point regarding the possibility of staying in Malta longer and his offer of support with this, I felt a huge weight lifted off me.

I appreciate him reaching out to chat and support me outside of the scheduled individual contact time.

Kevin’s insights, questions to consider, practical advice, and encouragement have been very helpful and he has continued to check in with me now the retreat has ended. I can tell he deeply cares about helping people.

I really appreciate his authenticity in sharing his background, eye gazing - for really seeing me and letting me see him, the thought provoking questions he asked (which I am still reflecting on), his ideas on philosophy/spirituality, book recommendation, ideas on accepting/agreeing with others projections, his soliciting supportive feedback for me from the group, and offering / running the post care programme. I appreciate his trying to carefully balance creating a supportive, healing, but also light and fun atmosphere, in sharing circles / ceremonies, even when people arrived late.

The past few days since leaving the retreat my nervous system has been very calm, at peace and hopeful, in a way that it has not been for a long time. I now have renewed hope that what I need to thrive in life is actually possible to achieve, thanks to Kevin’s guidance and the other retreat leaders, along with his offer of further support, I also now see the possibility of actually putting changes into practice.

Kind loving energy and presence
Thank you so much for your kind loving energy and the positivity you bring to people you are around and the world. I appreciate the time I spent in your presence. Thank you for the energy healing session where, I had intense feelings come up for the first time in a long time in that way. Thank you for the Yoga Nidra which made my smile and feel happy, and for telling me about your background. Hearing your story and that of the other leaders at the retreat has really helped move something I was starting to understand intellectually about my own living situation / environments and how they affect me, to something I now believe and feel on a deeper, more embodied level.

Renewed sense of possibilities, support, hope, kind presence and calming grounding energy
Talking with Iris gave me a renewed sense of possibilities, hope, inner peace, and calm.

I really appreciate her so much for sitting and chatting with me when I was feeling overwhelmed, until late into the evening. It felt very supportive to have a conversation with someone (like you might a friend) in a way that I do not get that much in my normal life on topics I am struggling with and from someone who has lived experience finding solutions for them. I found her practical guidance especially around living in Malta, Portugal, and in communities from personal experience super useful and insightful. Her offer of continued support is very much appreciated. I can tell she really cares about helping people.

I just wish I had been able to record the conversation, to remind myself of everything that was said.

Some of the general ideas I had heard before, but hearing them once again from someone else, who deeply understands and has had a similar lived experience, and others at the retreat allowed the truth to land more fully this time. It moved from something I understood intellectually to something I now believe and feel on a deeper, more embodied level.

Thank you for your kind presence and calming grounding energy at the retreat, and for your expertise and intuition with the massage which are nothing like I have experienced before in any massage.

I have left with a lot of hope that what I need to thrive in life is actually possible to achieve and practical ideas of how to get there.
