Amanda Gerace

Amanda’s personal experience with psilocybin has been life changing. It has helped her to process debilitating grief, trauma and depression from the loss of her daughter and a near death experience and eventually come back to herself with renewed vibrancy and extreme gratitude for the mystery and magic of the mushrooms. After experiencing the healing potential, Amanda was inspired to work more closely with psilocybin, and she graduated from InnerTrek with the inaugural cohort of the first legal psilocybin facilitators. Amanda began work as a massage therapist in 2003 after graduating from the Phoenix Therapeutic Massage College in Flagstaff, AZ. In the years since, she has extensively studied many additional modalities, always striving to deepen her understanding of the body, heart and mind. In 2020, Amanda became a certified end of life doula, and she holds a deep reverence for the ways in which grief and death shape us, teach us, and connect us to the cycles of life. Amanda’s private practice, established in 2008, continues to evolve, incorporating bodywork, nature-based practices, sauna, somatic grief support, end of life doula services and psilocybin facilitation. Her healing arts practice has been influenced by decades of working closely with people in vulnerable, transformative states- some of the lessons she received from this include the importance of listening, being focused and present in the moment, creating a deeply nurturing space- both physically and emotionally, establishing client's trust, and utilizing intuition to guide the process. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys gardening, paddle-boarding, snuggling cats, travel, and the adventures of mothering a teenage son. I’m Caroline Holm, a state-licensed psilocybin facilitator, artist, author, poet, and mother. My practice with clients is centered on creating a compassionate space where you feel safe to explore new perspectives, process difficult emotions, and awaken to your own capacity for transformation. Psilocybin has been a profound tool in my own life, helping me navigate grief, anxiety, and deepen my sense of creativity and awe. My passion for this work is born of deep gratitude for what it has catalyzed in my life, and it’s my joy to support this journey for others.‍ In my work with clients, I bring reverence and empathy, trusting in psilocybin’s potential to help you connect with your innate ability to shift perspectives, release unwanted patterns, and deepen connections. I embrace the interconnectedness of all things and have witnessed psilocybin work as a powerful tool to remind us of our belonging and purpose in a larger web of life. Details of this retreat

This psilocybin retreat is tailored for individuals navigating prolonged grief from sources such as the loss of a loved one, divorce, or other significant life changes. For individuals who have been stuck suffering from grief for an extended period of time, psilocybin can play an important part of one's journey back to living fully.
This retreat is also intended for individuals who are past the 'acute' phase of grief. Grieving is a normal and healthy response to loss. Undergoing a psilocybin experience during the acute phase of grief is generally not recommended, as it may overly intensify what are already intense and natural emotions, and may not aid in the healing process. A psilocybin experience is most beneficial to individuals who have reached some point of 'stuckness' in their grieving process.

Odyssey is legit!

After doing my research on the use of psilocybin for therapeutic outcomes, I was searching for an experience that was approachable to the mainstream, science and US based, with trained facilitators who were experienced and caring. Odyssey checked all the boxes and more! What made this experience for me was the facilitation team. From my first call with David Kahl and the team, I felt safe , cared for, and seen. A significant amount of time was spent preparing us for the journey with group calls , written preparation materials, and 1:1 time to ensure dosing was optimal based on what we wanted from the experience. While the team followed scientific protocols, nothing about this experience felt clinical. You felt like you were at a wellness retreat being in nature, journaling, meditating, and engaging in art or creative activities. I cannot emphasize enough the level of care the facilitators provided to ensure we felt safe and well taken care of. This was truly one of the best experiences of my life and I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to have a transformative life experience.

The most impactful experience of my life (not hyperbole).

I had been kicking around the idea of doing psilocybin for about 3 years.. I had watched every movie about it, listened to so many podcasts, etc.. I believed in the medicine and felt the time was right a few months ago.. I met with David and knew Odyssey was the place for me..

I did the group retreat (vs the private) and I'm so glad I did. The experience is hard to put into words..

Everything from start to finish was incredible. All the facilitators are some of the most amazing people I've ever met and I will be forever grateful for them. They are so kind, gentle, loving, and give you any space you need but are also there for you when you need them.

The lookout lodge was the most beautiful place I had ever stayed. The vastness of the mountains and trees that this place allows you to take in are absolutely breath taking. I found myself sitting outside numerous times just in awe.. I roomed with someone and it did not feel awkward for me at all (an initial concern).. I got 8 new lifelong friends from all walks of life and age ranges by doing and sharing this amazing experience with them. The food they provide is so good and flavorful as well..

The journey experiences were difficult, amazing, scary, joyful, and basically every other adjective you can put.. I feel so lucky to have had so many profound epiphanies thanks to the medicine.. I am not the same person I was before.. Just have a zeal and love for life and grateful for everything..

I feel like I could go on forever but I'll just end with, if you are thinking about doing psilocybin, do it.. It took me a lot to follow through and book the retreat as there was a lot of fear in me but I am so proud of myself for doing it and forever grateful for David, JP, Armond, Alex, and River.. <3

Amazing experience all around. Top notch care from the moment we arrived to the time we left. All facilitators were very knowledgeable and caring. They provided support during the journey but gave us time and space needed when at the lodge. The group experience was very helpful being around like minded people to bond with.

I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Odyssey. The entire process, from intake to integration, was well managed.
